Wheat contains 75-80% carbohydrates, 9-18% protein, fibre and a lot of vitamins. It also contains calcium, iron and many other nutrients. Wheat grain can be converted into flour for making edible and palatable foods. Intake of wheat and its products lowers risk of stroke, obesity, diabetes and heart disease.
