Chiefs quarterback player revealed ahead of the Super Bowl LVII that faith has taken him this far in the game.
Kansas City Chiefs, an American professional gridiron football team based in Kansas City, Missouri, had won three league championships (1962, 1966, and 1969) and Super Bowls IV (1970) & LIV (2020). This year, the chiefs are competing for their 2nd title in four seasons, and the second shot in six years for the Eagles.
Patrick Mahomes of Kansas City quarterback made it known to the public during a Super Bowl press conference that he is on the “football field to glorify God”. He also revealed in an interview during the conference that his faith has helped him find purpose in the game. He said; “I feel like I’ve grown in my faith over these last few years,” he shared. “And I think that’s [given] me more of a sense of who I am and why I play the game that I play.”
According to a report by sports spectrum, Mahomes emphasized that every action he takes is rooted deeply in his Christian Faith. “My Christian faith plays a role in everything that I do,” he said. “I always ask God to lead me in the right direction and let me be who I am for His Name. So it has a role in everything that I do. And obviously, we’ll be on a huge stage in the Super Bowl that He’s given me, and I want to make sure I’m glorifying Him while I do it.” he concluded.
Ahead of the Super Bowl LVII on Sunday evening, CBN conversed with some of the players and they confessed that irrespective of who wins the game, it is all part of God’s plan. Players from the Chiefs and the Eagles recount God’s faithfulness through adversity, which helps them enjoy the blessing of being in the Super Bowl even more.
