As the world gears up for the Holy Year 2025, the Dicastery for Evangelization has announced the official Jubilee Calendar, website, and app. In addition, the winner of the Competition for the official Jubilee Hymn has been revealed.
At the press conference held on Tuesday at the Holy See Press Office, Archbishop Rino Fisichella, the pro-prefect of the Dicastery’s Section in charge of coordinating the Vatican’s efforts for the event, expressed his satisfaction with the progress made so far, stating that preparations were proceeding at full pace and were progressing significantly.
The website and app, launched in collaboration with the Office for Internet Services of the Holy See, will provide the latest information on the Holy Year, including the various events and activities that will take place in Rome and other parts of the world. The website and app are available in several languages and are designed to be user-friendly and easy to navigate.
The winner of the Competition for the official Jubilee Hymn was also announced at the conference. The hymn was composed by Maestro Francesco Meneghello, from Mantua, Italy. The hymn was chosen from among hundreds of entries submitted from around the world, and it was selected for its spiritual depth and musical excellence.
The preparations for the Holy Year 2025 include the establishment of a Pastoral Commission. The Commission is composed of representatives from each Dicastery of the Roman Curia and pastoral contact persons from various ecclesial entities. Its primary goal is to promote preparatory initiatives, especially in local churches, to enhance the spiritual experience of pilgrims.
Furthermore, a Cultural Commission has also been formed to facilitate and coordinate various cultural events such as exhibitions, concerts, and performances. These activities will complement and enrich the spiritual journey of the pilgrims.
The Holy Year 2025 is expected to attract millions of pilgrims from around the world, and the Vatican is working tirelessly to ensure that the event is a success. The Holy Year is a time for spiritual renewal and a call to action for all Catholics to live out their faith in concrete ways. The Jubilee Calendar, website, and app, along with the official Jubilee Hymn and the various projects envisioned, will play a crucial role in making the Holy Year 2025 a memorable and transformative experience for all.
