High School Musical Series Star, Joshua Bassett talked about his Christian faith during a Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award.
The Disney actor had been on stage to accept the Kids’ Choice Award as the series’ favourite male TV star of High School Musical; The Musical. There, he shared his newfound belief in Jesus Christ and also asked his fans to seek God. In his speech, he said; “I’d love to thank my Saviour, Jesus Christ,” Bassett said after appreciating his supporters alongside the cast and crew of “High School Musical.” He later proceeded to share a message of light and hope with the children.
“I want to say something. There are a lot of people here who are burdened, broken-hearted, and have been beaten down by life,” he began.
“I’m here to tell you— for those of you who’ve lost hope, there’s a very real God who loves you more than you will ever possibly know,” Bassett said. “His promise is peace and my testimony is my healing.”
Before he left the stage, the Disney star gave fans three rules to live by, he said; “Remember: Forgive quickly, love freely and walk courageously,” he said. “Love always wins in the end.”
However, while some fans commended Bassett for sharing the message of the Christian faith, some had criticised his actions on social media saying “using a children’s awards show to push religion onto impressionable kids is so fucking weird what a weird thing to do that shouldn’t be allowed”.

Bassett had drawn a lot of attention when he shared a video of his baptism in Bethel Church on his social media page last month.
The young Disney Star is to commence a tour tagged, “THE COMPLICATED TOUR 2023” in San Francisco, CA Night 1 on March 7, 2023.
