In a bid to spread the message of hope and faith, Evangelist Franklin Graham, the CEO of Samaritan’s Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA), is embarking on the God Loves You Frontera Tour across the U.S. southern border.
The 10-city tour is set to commence on February 24 at the Brownsville Sports Park in Brownsville, Texas, and will cover over 1,500 miles, concluding on March 9 in Chula Vista, California.
The God Loves You Frontera Tour will traverse several key cities along the border, including McAllen, Laredo, Eagle Pass, Del Rio, Presidio, El Paso, Tucson in Arizona, and Yuma. The events will feature live performances by Christian artists Taya, Marcos Witt, and Dennis Agajanian, offering a spiritual experience to attendees.
All scheduled events are free and open to the public, aiming to deliver a message of hope amidst challenging circumstances. Franklin Graham took to social media platform X to announce the tour dates and shared, “Next month we will be hitting the road for the #GodLovesYou Frontera Tour! Contrary to any political motives, Graham clarified in a statement to CBN News that his purpose is not to critique U.S. border policy. Instead, he emphasized his commitment to spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ, especially in areas facing considerable challenges. Graham expressed his concern for the crisis at the southern border, stating, “The God Loves You Frontera Tour is about preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ where it’s desperately needed.”
Addressing concerns that the tour might be influenced by the election year, Graham asserted that the primary motivation is the ongoing crisis and its escalating nature. Acknowledging the overwhelming situation faced by communities, churches, law enforcement agencies, and individuals along the border, Graham emphasized the tour’s focus on delivering a message of faith and hope.
“The Gospel is for all people,” Graham affirmed, irrespective of their nationality. Rejecting any notion of endorsing or opposing border policies, he stated, “I’m not going there to speak against our policies at the border. The politicians know these policies are broken.”
Having organized evangelistic events across the United States for the past seven years, Graham has collaborated with local pastors, churches, and volunteers. According to the tour’s website, over 570,000 individuals have attended these events, with more than 34,000 making decisions to follow Jesus Christ.
In an inclusive approach, Graham emphasized, “The Gospel is for all people—regardless of whether they’re from the United States, Mexico, or from some other country.” His intention is not to welcome or discourage people based on their origin but to reach out to those with “hungry hearts and hurting people” and share the transformative power of faith in Jesus Christ.
