Franklin Graham of the Billy Graham Evangelical Association was received by the Prime Minister in Vietnam as he prepared to preach during the “Spring Love Festival”.
It is the first visit of an evangelical Christian minister preaching outside a religious holiday. Graham had met with Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, in the capital Hanoi. During the meeting, he talked about the importance of religious freedom with the heads of state.
Rev Graham said, “I am grateful for this, and thankful to the Deputy Prime Minister and the government for allowing me to come and preach in Vietnam a second time.”
“This weekend I am looking forward to being in beautiful Ho Chi Minh City, where we are working with more than 300 churches for the Spring Love Festival. All are welcome to attend these free events where I will share a message of God’s love for the people of Vietnam.”
Graham, the CEO of Billy Graham Evangelical Association, is to preach the gospel during the Spring Love Festival coming up on Saturday and Sunday, 4 and 5 March. The service takes place at the Phu Tho Sports Facility in Ho Chi Minh City.
The evangelist had shared several posts on social media on his visit to Vietnam. One of the captions on his post reads, “I want to share with the people of #Vietnam how they can have a relationship with Jesus Christ. #SpringLoveFestival #PRAY”
