Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs to victory during Super Bowl LVII on Sunday, even after sustaining an injury.
Kansas City Chiefs had topped the Philadelphia Eagles in a game with a high score of 38 – 35, which was secured at the last minute of the game. Chiefs quarterback player, Patrick Mahomes, had played a significant role in the win of the team as he led a final charge toward the goal line while limping as a result of an ankle injury he had sustained earlier.
With the mindset to win, he had garnered energy as he gave a final drive to give his team a scoring zone. The chiefs performed fantastically as they kicked a winning goal in the last few minutes of the game.
According to Mahomes to a reporter in a LIVE post-game interview, he said he played the match while he was still recovering from an injury he sustained in his ankle, he also said he was able to ensure it because God gave him the strength to do so. He said in his words; “I wanna thank God man, he healed my body this week and gave me the strength,”. Mahomes, being a strong believer in the faith had once said that he always ask for God’s direction in everything he does. Earlier before the game, he had said; “I always ask God to lead me in the right direction and let me be who I am for His Name. So it has a role in everything that I do. And obviously, we’ll be on a huge stage in the Super Bowl that He’s given me, and I want to make sure I’m glorifying Him while I do it.”
Amidst the jubilation, the chiefs had taken to their official Twitter account and posted with the hashtag #VICTORYMONDAY. The full caption reads;
