Kourtney Kardashian, a reality TV star, has been reportedly restricted from getting married in a Catholic church.
The 43-year-old, who is engaged to drummer Travis Barker, has expressed her desire to have a Catholic wedding, but her request has been denied by the church.
According to sources, Kardashian’s request was turned down due to the fact that there is a strict requirement by the Church. In the Catholic Church, they are to take a one year Catholic course
The Catholic Church has strict rules regarding marriage, and couples must undergo a year of Catholic courses. “The church didn’t work out, especially (as the) Italian Catholic church is so strict and we needed really specific documents or we needed to do a one-year Catholic course,” the 43-year-old explained.
The reality TV star has not commented on the matter directly. The couple later had a wedding on the property of one of their friends, Dolce & Gabbana founders, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. Yet, that wasn’t straightforward either due to the remote nature of the location.
“They had to do helicopter drops to get the piano there, to get everything to build. They were dropping wood at the castle and at the property for the ceremony for days,” Kourtney continued. “One thing I did realise working with Domenico is, what Domenico says – he really just does it. We presented a lot of stuff that looked like the church and then they almost created a church. We let some details go that I think people would be surprised with.”
Travis added: “Yeah, we just wanted to get married, we didn’t really care about the details.”
The wedding was later conducted by Pastor Chad Veach, who happens to be a friend to the couple.
Kardashian is best known for her appearances on the reality TV show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” which aired from 2007 to 2021. She is also a successful businesswoman, with her own lifestyle brand, Poosh, and a line of skincare products.
