Actor Allan Ritchson, known for his roles in “Reacher ” and “The Hunger Games,” is advocating for the support of faith-based films to keep conversations about Christ active.
During a recent prayer Zoom call with the cast and crew of the upcoming film “Ordinary Angels,” Ritchson expressed his pride in being a part of such films and the importance of their support.
Ritchson emphasized that he wants to be a part of stories that revolve around faith and Christ.
For him, supporting faith-based films is a way to reach people who would not normally step foot in a church. He believes that such films are a great way to have a conversation about Christ and spread the message of faith to a wider audience.
Ritchson, the 40-year-old star, will be featured in the upcoming faith-based film “Ordinary Angels,” set to hit theaters on October 13. The film’s plot centers around a single mother who rallies her community to support a family dealing with a medical crisis, delivering a message of hope and unity.
The film’s production company, Kingdom Story, has recently gained attention for its work on other successful faith-based films such as “I Can Only Imagine,” “I Still Believe,” and “Jesus Revolution,” which reached number one on Amazon’s bestseller chart and helped put Christian films on Hollywood’s radar.
For Ritchson, films like “Ordinary Angels” provide an inspiring message for viewers who may feel as though only special individuals are capable of making a difference in the world. In reality, the film highlights the power of anyone to initiate change and be the spark that ignites progress.
“God continually shows up in our world in a way that kind of boggles our mind,” he said, per Christian Headlines’ report. “Because we, for whatever reason, I think we continue to buy into the idea that … God chooses heroes to do His work. And it’s just never been the case. It’s the broken and the dysfunctional that God proves His power and strength through. And this a story of that, too.” He said.
As faith-based films continue to gain popularity, it is clear that there is a demand for stories that offer messages of hope and redemption. With stars like Allan Ritchson bringing their support to these films, audiences can look forward to a future where faith-based movies are recognized as an essential part of the cinematic landscape.
