Operation Blessing team had risen to lend a helping hand in the Turkey and Syria Earthquakes that had claimed over 36,000 lives.
On Sunday night, a convoy drove to get the disaster relief team to the ground, along with important supplies to help out victims of the disaster and rescuers of the mishap. According to a report on the official website of the NGO, it took the convoy longer hours than usual to get to the ground, as a result of the huge traffic headed towards the disaster region.
Several humanitarian organisations had taken over the situation and Operation Blessing is right in the middle of saving also.
Diego Traverso, the director of Operation Blessing’s International Disaster Relief told CBN News that the team is setting up a kitchen on the field where hot meals are going to be shared with the most affected areas in the region. He said; “Today we’re going to set it up a soup kitchen, hopefully, two of them,” “One is for the rescue teams and some of the people that got affected by the earthquake, and another one here in this neighbourhood that is pretty safe. From here, we’re going to be distributing hot meals to the most affected areas in this region.”
One of Operation Blessing Volunteers, Nathan Updike, said helping feels like being God’s hands and feet and he doesn’t feel like he’s serving. He said; “To be here and just to be God’s hands and feet is really, really a gift to me, and it doesn’t feel like I’m serving. I just feel like I’m doing work God would be doing, and I can’t believe I get to do that,”
A Tweet on the Operation Blessing handle reads; “YOU are shining a 💡and giving hope to so many in Turkey. Thank you for your compassion to help the hurting in their darkest hours. God bless you for your kindness.”
