Pastor Greg Laurie: Biblical Prophecy Unfolding in the Middle East

Renowned author and pastor Greg Laurie, recognized for his role at Harvest Christian Fellowship and his involvement in the film Jesus Revolution, has recently expressed his conviction that biblical prophecy is unfolding in the Middle East.

Through a video shared on his social media platforms, Laurie called on Christians to extend their support to Israel and earnestly pray for peace in the region.

Laurie pointed to events in Russia, Iran, and Israel, suggesting that they align with predictions in the Bible. According to him, the prophetic “time clock” started ticking in 1948 when the modern nation of Israel was established. Referring to Ezekiel 37-38, Laurie highlighted passages that describe enemies gathering from the north to attack the Holy Land. He noted that “Gog and Magog,” often thought to represent Russia, may be playing a role, citing reports of Russian support for Hezbollah.

The pastor emphasized the significance of the formation of Israel in 1948, aligning with biblical prophecies about the regathering of the Jewish people. Quoting Ezekiel 38, Laurie suggested that Russia and Iran, referred to as Magog and Persia in the Bible, could be involved in attacking Israel. He also mentioned the openly stated desires of groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran for the destruction of Israel.

Laurie conveyed a hopeful message, stating that after this prophesied attack, a great spiritual awakening is foreseen for the Jewish people. In the meantime, he urged Christians to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and to strive to understand the unfolding events in the Middle East.

Highlighting the global issue of anti-Semitism, Laurie referenced a recent march with 100,000 people chanting slogans like ‘Death to Israel.’ He explained the underlying message, emphasizing the need for Christians to stand against such hatred and support Israel. Laurie stressed that the Bible designates the Jews as God’s chosen people and that Christians should pray for them, recognizing the historical connection between God, the Bible, and the Jewish people.

Laurie encouraged Christians to comprehend the significance of the land of Israel in biblical history and to recognize God’s work in current events. He reiterated the importance of standing with Israel and praying for peace, as he believes biblical prophecy is unfolding before their eyes.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

- We have all sinned and deserve God's judgment. God, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in Him. Jesus, the creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that He died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Bible. If you truly believe and trust this in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your Savior, declaring, "Jesus is Lord," you will be saved from judgment and spend eternity with God in heaven.

What is your response?

If you are not a Christian, and would like to become a Christian. Simply say - "LORD Jesus, thank you for forgiving me of my SINs, today I am deciding to follow you. Accept me into your family, in Jesus name I pray. Amen "
