Renowned Pastor Tim Keller’s Son Gives Update on his Health Status, Says he’s “Ready to See Jesus”

Tim Keller’s son, Michael, made a heartfelt announcement on Facebook Thursday evening, revealing that his father, Tim Keller, a prominent Christian pastor and author, would be transferred to hospice care at home. In his emotional post, Michael shared that Tim had been discharged from the hospital to receive the necessary care and support in his final days.

The news of Tim Keller’s transition to hospice care came as a shock to many of his followers and admirers who have been inspired by his teachings and writings. Michael Keller expressed the sadness felt by the entire family, emphasizing their desire for more time with their beloved father. However, he also acknowledged that Tim had repeatedly expressed his longing to be with Jesus in his prayers.

“Over the past few days, he has asked us to pray with him often. He expressed many times through prayer his desire to go home to be with Jesus,” wrote Michael Keller in his Facebook post. “His family is very sad because we all wanted more time, but we know he has very little at this point.”

He also quoted the prayer his father said earlier this week: “I’m thankful for all the people who’ve prayed for me over the years. I’m thankful for my family, that loves me. I’m thankful for the time God has given me, but I’m ready to see Jesus. I can’t wait to see Jesus. Send me home.”

In May 2020, Keller received the life-altering news of being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Determined to fight back, he embarked on a challenging journey that involved undergoing chemotherapy and participating in an immunotherapy drug trial at the esteemed National Institute for Health in Bethesda, Maryland.

Two years later, on the anniversary of his diagnosis, Keller turned to Twitter to share an update on his progress. He expressed gratitude for the positive impact of chemotherapy, remarking that it was effectively shrinking the cancer. Keller acknowledged this as a testament to the blessings he had received, stating that he believed a higher power had granted him additional time.

Tim Keller, known for his profound theological insights and compassionate approach to Christianity, has touched the lives of countless individuals around the world. As the founding pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City, he played a significant role in shaping the landscape of modern Christian thought. His teachings emphasized the importance of faith, grace, and the transformative power of the Gospel.

Throughout his ministry, Tim Keller has been an advocate for social justice and reconciliation, encouraging Christians to engage with contemporary culture while remaining true to their beliefs. His books, including “The Reason for God” and “The Prodigal God,” have become bestsellers, resonating with both Christians and those questioning their faith.

The news of Tim Keller’s deteriorating health has elicited an outpouring of support and prayers from individuals and communities worldwide. Many have taken to social media platforms to express their gratitude for his impact on their lives and to offer comfort to his family during this difficult time.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

- We have all sinned and deserve God's judgment. God, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in Him. Jesus, the creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that He died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Bible. If you truly believe and trust this in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your Savior, declaring, "Jesus is Lord," you will be saved from judgment and spend eternity with God in heaven.

What is your response?

If you are not a Christian, and would like to become a Christian. Simply say - "LORD Jesus, thank you for forgiving me of my SINs, today I am deciding to follow you. Accept me into your family, in Jesus name I pray. Amen "
