A movie titled “Jesus Revolution”, which was released in theatres last month and exceeded box office expectations had drawn attention as there are reports of people receiving the light of the gospel after watching the movie.
Kelvin Lancour-frohn, a certain spotter on Facebook had posted a video clip of a revival that started in Miami theatre after moviegoers watched the “Jesus Revolution” film. The caption on the post read, “THE HOLY SPIRIT BROKE OUT AT THE JESUS REVOLUTION MOVIE IN FLORIDA” The video had gained over 200 thousand views with thousands of likes and social media comments.
“Jesus Revolution” is a movie that features the movement of Christ on the West coast of the U. S. between the 1960s and 1970s. It tells the story of a group of young people who, during the turbulent 1960s, discover a newfound faith in Jesus Christ and start a spiritual revolution that transforms their lives and their world.
According to Common Sense Media’s Tara McNamara in a post, “This drama is almost certain to energise and inspire the Christian crowd, but it’s also likely to captivate those who tend to avoid films about religion. That’s both because it’s very well made and because there’s honesty and accountability here.”
Lionsgate producers had expected the faith-based movie to yield about 6 million to 7 million in ticket sales. However, surprisingly it grossed about 15 million over the weekend.
