The final season of the Christian movie, “The Chosen” has received lots of views in film houses as it tops the movie box office on the first day of its release.
“The Chosen” is the first ever multi-seasonal Christian movie that is based on the life of Jesus Christ., and this American historical drama television series was co-written and directed by Christian filmmaker, Dallas Jenkins. The final season topped the U. S. movie box office with $1.67 million on 2nd February, the first day of release, and a total of $3.6 million over the weekend. The series made it out as the 9th of the top 10 movies at the box office.
The movie director, Dallas Jenkins, revealed that the series did not spend any money on marketing, and he was amazed at the successful turnout.
Jenkins said in a statement; “We didn’t spend anything on marketing, we weren’t anticipating big numbers,”. “We just wanted to quietly make this available on the big screen to our fans for two days. It’s fun to see them not keep it quiet. ”
“We were excited to give you a chance to see the finale on the big screen but weren’t expecting this. Look what YOU did,” The official handle of “The Chosen” stated.
As soon as the producers of the movie announced that the last two episodes of the final season will be available to watch in theaters on a ticket policy, fans responded so quickly that it caused havoc to the ticketing website.
According to the CBN News report, the movie is the biggest crowd-funded in global history.
