‘Thy Will, Not Mine’ – American Actress Chrissy Metz Talks About the Power of Prayer

In a recent interview, Hollywood actress Chrissy Metz spoke about the power of prayer in her life and career, stating that she often prays for guidance and trust in a higher power.

Metz, best known for her role in the hit TV show “This Is Us,” has been open about her struggles with weight, self-esteem, and finding her place in Hollywood. She credits her faith for helping her navigate these challenges.

“Prayer has been a game-changer for me,” Metz said in the interview. “I’ve learned to surrender to a higher power and trust that things will work out as they are meant to, not necessarily as I want them to.” Metz went on to share a quote that has become a mantra for her: “Thy will, not mine.” She explained that this phrase reminds her to trust in the path that God has laid out for her, even if it’s not the one she would have chosen for herself.

In a conversation with CBN, Metz said; “I just didn’t know what to do, but I would just pray that, ‘Thy will, not mine, be done,’ because, for me, I always say that my ego and my time is not God’s time,”. “And so there were, I think, a lot of lessons that I needed to learn or things that I needed to see and experience myself in order to be ready for what was coming my way.” She added.

Fans of the actress have praised her openness about her faith, with many expressing gratitude for her positive influence and message of hope.

Metz has several ongoing and upcoming projects, including a kids’ book titled; “When I Talk to God, I Talk About You”. According to Metz, it is a book focused on the importance of making a decision to “guide and protect and love and foster children”.

With her continued success in Hollywood and her strong faith guiding her, it’s clear that Chrissy Metz is an inspiration to many.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

- We have all sinned and deserve God's judgment. God, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in Him. Jesus, the creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that He died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Bible. If you truly believe and trust this in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your Savior, declaring, "Jesus is Lord," you will be saved from judgment and spend eternity with God in heaven.

What is your response?

If you are not a Christian, and would like to become a Christian. Simply say - "LORD Jesus, thank you for forgiving me of my SINs, today I am deciding to follow you. Accept me into your family, in Jesus name I pray. Amen "
