Christian Post Report – Zayn Malik of One Direction
A few weeks after Zayn Malik shocked One Direction fans by saying that he was leaving the popular boy band, he finally breaks his silence on Twitter. Malik posted a message on Twitter thanking his fans: “Wanna say thanks to everyone that’s been there for me over the last few weeks, love you all.. you know who you are x.” This is the first time in almost a month that Malik had posted anything on social media after he left 1D.
On the other hand, he made his first public appearance during the 2015 Asia Awards in London, where he accepted an award for Outstanding Achievement in Music. He was accompanied by his mother. During his “thank-you” speech, he also thanked his former bandmates, adding that “some of the things that we did will stay with me for the rest of my life.”
As for his former bandmates, they are moving on as a four-member band after Malik’s departure. According to a report in Entertainment Tonight Online, the group recently released their first official photo without Malik.
One of its members, Liam Payne, had earlier said in an interview that they have been experiencing “a tough few weeks, probably the toughest since the band was formed five years ago.” He also said that they were “determined to carry on stronger than ever.”
Simon Cowell, under whose record label the band is signed on to, recently shared his thoughts about Malik’s departure during an interview in “The Late Late Show with James Corden.” He admitted to having an idea that Zayn was going to leave.
“I kinda knew this was coming, if I could be honest with you. We had a few conversations, and he wasn’t happy,” he said. He also said that he tried to convince Zayn to stay on a little longer.
