Preview of the upcoming iOS 11 update
Following the release of its latest flagship models, Apple is already having a tough time particularly with the latest iteration of its mobile operating system, the iOS 11. After experiencing a number of issues, the Cupertino-based firm hastily released update 11.0.1.
However, it seems that the update created more problems than it fixed and now the company is being swamped with complaints. Users took to both Reddit and Apple’s official @applesupport Twitter account to air their grievances with Apple as well as ask other users if they are also experiencing the same issues.
“Anybodys phone start freezing 10+ times a day and then restarting? Since IOS 11 my phone has been freezing a lot and with IOS 11.0.1 it’s doing it even more… so frustrating,” said one user. Another posted, “My home screen stutters. 3D Touch drops frames. Scrolling through photos drops frames as well. Feels like I’m using a 20-year-old phone. iPhone 7 btw.”
The update was released following complaints of email and battery life issues arose. However, instead of offering a fix after the release of iOS 11.0.1, these issues ballooned to include leveling performance issues, lock screen freezes, Bluetooth and WiFi connections dropping and overall system instability. Repeated app crashes were also experienced by users who update to the newest version, particularly for Apple Music.
This doesn’t mean that the update was a complete and utter failure though as Apple’s promised fix for the Outlook and Exchange-based email accounts do work and users can send messages again. Compared to the added headaches most users experienced with the update, however, this is nothing more than a tiny consolation.
Apple has promised to fix these new issues as any tech company should. However, that fix isn’t coming in an instant so Apple users might have to live with the issues for a while, just until Apple releases update 11.0.2 for the iOS 11.
