The story follows a girl searching for her father and, in the book, characters reference Isaiah 42:10-12, Romans 8:28-30 and 1 Corinthians 1:25-28.
Madeliene L’Engle’s book ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ was not without controversy when it was released in 1962 and was one of the most banned books in America.
Although L’Engle was a Christian, the book was banned for equating Jesus with famous figures of history such as Da Vinci and Gandhi and accused of promoting witchcraft.
The film however, cuts Jesus out all together and has sparked disappointment on social media.
A wrinkle in time would have been a better movie if ava duvernay and writer Jennifer lee didn’t strip it of its Christian theme

By the way, if you loved the Christian influences and touches in A Wrinkle in Time, don’t go looking for them in the film. They have vanished completely.
