We’re on the edge of a new move of the Holy Spirit

Paul Harcourt, who is also the vicar at All Saints Woodford Wells, said, “In the last few weeks we’ve had people coming into our church who have had no real contact with the church for years before, woke up in the morning and felt ‘I just need to go to church’. And then they come in and the presence of God is so tangible in the service that they’re struck by something. They come forward at the end of the service and we lead them to faith.

“We baptised three people on Sunday night, it was only their first time in church two weeks ago”.

“One of the reasons I think we may be on the edge of a new move of the Holy Spirit is I hear that in many contexts up and down England”

Harcourt said that any future move of the Spirit would look different to what happened in past history because, “God rarely shows up in the same way [as before]”

He added that the popularity of recent prayer movements including 24/7 Prayer and Thy Kingdom Come could mean revival is around the corner.

“History teaches me that whenever there has been a mass move of prayer, there often comes a revival after that.

“So I believe we may be beginning to see something that looks like the turning of the tide”

Paul Harcourt was speaking ahead of New Wine’s summer festivals, which are currently being held in Peterborough
