Former NFL tight end Benjamin Watson took issue with Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden for pledging that he will make Roe v. Wade “the law of the land” during an NBC News town hall event on Monday, Faithwire reports.
“Actually overturning Roe/Wade would CORRECTLY return the issue to the states where the people and their state govts will decide whether to deprive ANY person of life liberty and property. Truly INTERPRETING rights in the reconstruction era 14th amendment instead of CREATING them” Watson tweeted Tuesday morning.

Section 1 of the 14th Amendment states that “no state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”
