John 5:6-7 -When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? 7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
The underlined scripture above has today become the philosophy of many people but the Word of God says that you are the maker of your ways according to Joshua 1:8
Joshua 1:8 – This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
No man can make your way for you; you will have to make it. In recent times, people always cry for a man to help them. Our society believes you cannot get to anywhere without knowing some man. It is believed that it is not possible to amount to much in life without a man with whom to relate with but this is completely unscriptural.
Jer.17:5-6 – Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord. 6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
Anyone who trusts in man has a faulty perspective. The man at the pool of Bethesda stayed at that place for 38 years because of ‘I have no man’ mentality.
If you do what God says, you will make your way prosperous and you will have good success. Hence, your destiny is not in the hands of any man; your future is not kept with a man because God knows how wicked a man’s heart can be.
Jer. 17:9 -The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Since God knows the wickedness of man, HE could not have preserved your destiny in the hands of any man. It is your obedience that determines the beauty of your future. Obedience is the cheapest way to disarm your enemy.
2Cor.10:6 – And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
It is disobedience that gives place to the devil. Satan has no access to you except through disobedience. Disobedience provides automatic access for the devil to afflict a believer. Therefore, it is your obedience that determines the quality of your future. When you fulfil all that God demands of you, no force in hell can resist your advancement.
The only way to get to the top is by total obedience to every instruction of the lord; that is your lift to the top. When you are tired of obeying God’s instruction, it means that you are tired of advancing. As long as you remain obedient to God’s instructions, then your journey to the top cannot be stopped. Therefore, if you want a lift to the top, go for total obedience to all the instructions of God.
