Topic: Receiving And Experiencing 1 [Monday, 1st May 2017]
That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9
To receive means to get something from someone. People have different reasons they give to different people, but the most profound reason is love. If you’ve ever felt love for someone, you’ll notice that whenever that person is in need, all you want to do is provide for them. No matter how little you have, you’ll want to give it to them, to satisfy their needs. If you’ve not noticed that, then we should question your love.
Now we know the love of God is way more intense than we can ever imagine because God is Love (1 John 4:8). So while we were yet sinners, He loved us so much, that He gave His only begotten Son in exchange for our sins (John 3:16). His love also propelled Him to go ahead and let us, in our limited state, be called the sons of God (1 John 3:1). That’s amazing love.
He did not end there. His love bestowed us with mercies that are new every morning, and grace that sufficiently abounds towards us. This is all because He loves us. Imagine how loving Him back will be. If when you’ve not loved Him, He did all these for you, imagine what He’ll do when you love Him back. That’s right; you can’t imagine. Don’t worry, you inability to imagine is backed by scriptures, for it says “no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”
We can’t even begin to fathom what He has in store for those that love Him, in response to His love for us. Our minds are way too limited for that: “for as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:9). Though we may not know them now, but we have confidence based on the scriptures in Jeremiah 29:11 – “for I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” And with this we receive abundantly from Him.
Keep winning daily.
Prayer:
Blessed Father, thank You for Your love that You have so bestowed upon me that leaves me speechless. Thank You for the opportunity to love You back, and bask in Your abundance. Help me to always live with the consciousness that You have more plans than I can ever imagine, and make that my reality, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
