Bahamian Plane Crash Black Box Found

INVESTIGATORS have found the cockpit voice recorder and the digital electronic engine monitors from the ill-fated Lear jet which crashed on Sunday in Grand Bahama, killing all nine people on board, including religious leader Dr Myles Munroe.

A statement released by the Department of Civil Aviation said it is anticipated that these critical pieces of equipment will assist investigators in determining the cause of the crash.

The news came as the final victim’s name was released. He was Diego DeSantiago, a 38-year-old US man who frequently travelled with Dr Munroe as a translator.

Originally, reports had suggested that the final victim of the crash had been an African visitor, but yesterday it was confirmed that Mr DeSantiago, a frequent visitor to The Bahamas, was the remaining passenger on the plane.

The team of investigators combing the crash site includes four officers from the Department of Civil Aviation’s Aircraft Accident Investigation and Prevention Unit, three officials from Bombardier, the jet’s manufacturers, one from the US’ Federal Aviation Administration, and one official from the National Transportation Safety Board.

The plane was a US-registered aircraft…Read More

US School District to Remove Religious Holidays From Calendar

Montgomery County schools in Maryland will no longer recognize Christian or Jewish holidays on school calendars after members of the Muslim community campaigned for their holy day of Eid al-Adha so to receive equal treatment.

Fox News reports that starting in the 2015-2016 academic year, students will still have days off from school for holidays such as Christmas and Easter, but the calendar will refer to the days as “Winter Break” and “Spring Break.” For Jewish holidays such as Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah, the school calendar will be marked as “no school for students and teachers” but not be associated with the religious holidays.

The decision was voted upon by the school district’s board. Montgomery County Schools Superintendent Joshua Starr reportedly recommended the move after feeling pressure from Muslim leaders to give students the day off of school to observe Eid-al-Adha.

Saqib Ali, the co-chair of the Equality for Eid Coalition said, “By stripping the names Christmas, Easter, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, they have alienated other communities now, and we are no closer to equality. It’s a pretty drastic step, and they did it without any public notification.”

Pastor Claims World Record for Longest Sermon Which took 53 Hours

A Florida pastor is claiming a Guinness World Record for the longest speech ever following a marathon sermon. Pastor Zack Zehnder from The Cross church in Mount Dora preached for 53 hours and 18 minutes, smashing the previous record which was a mere 48 hours and 31 minutes.

Zehnder, whose father, grandfather, and great-grandfather were all ministers in the Lutheran Church, undertook the challenge to raise funds for an addiction recovery ministry run by the Hand in Hand charity. The Powerhouse Addiction Recovery Program will help people with addictions including alcohol, drug and sex among others. The target of $100,000 was surpassed on Monday with a $10,000 cheque that took the total to more than $102,000.

Hand in Hand executive director Dave Douglas said: “I’m blown away by the generosity of so many people who have given their time and talents to support this cause.”

Zehnder’s sermon began at 7am on Friday, November 7 and continued until 7.32 am on Sunday, November 9. He was only allowed a five-minute break every hour…Read More

A Tribute to Myles and Ruth Munroe

Myles and I called ourselves ‘twin brothers’
Myles, my twin brother is gone up to glory
Ruth, his partner in life and death has gone to eternal rest
Faith and I miss you both!
Our moments together on this side of the Jordan were most memorable.
We stayed together on several occasions under the same roof
We lodged in same hotels time and again; we shared the platform together preaching the good news of the Kingdom over the years.
Our friendship of over 24 years was a most enriching and adventurous one,
Our partnership in ministry was also a most profitable and rejuvenating one.

Myles, my twin brother
A bundle of inspiration
A man of spiritual depth and insight
A leader of leaders and teacher of teachers

Ruth, a bundle of joy and divine radiance
Your smiles were ever contagious,
You exhumed gentleness, love and care like a fountain
You were indeed a priceless jewel!

The two of you were swifter than eagles
You literally traversed the globe
As you taught nations the principles of the Kingdom
You were both as strong as the unicorn,
Energetic, untiring, never relenting, purposeful and focused

I could still remember, Myles and I took all the inaugural induction lectures for the pioneer Faculty and Staff of Covenant University in August 2002.
All of Myles’ meetings on our church platform were ever inspiring and impactful.
The Living Faith Church Worldwide really misses you!

Good night Myles, my twin brother!
Good night Ruth, his partner in life and in death

Pope Urges Global Defence of Persecuted Christians

Pope Francis condemned the “absurd violence” being used against Christians in several countries and called on people of good will everywhere to take up the cause of religious freedom.

At the end of his general audience on November 12, Pope Francis asked the estimated 15,000 people in St Peter’s Square to join him in reciting the Lord’s Prayer for Christians facing persecution.

“With great trepidation, I am following the dramatic incidents of Christians in several parts of the world being persecuted and killed because of their religious beliefs,” the Pope said. “I must express my deep spiritual closeness to the Christian communities so harshly struck by an absurd violence that does not show signs of stopping.”

Calling on political leaders on the national and international level, as well as on “all people of good will,” Pope Francis urged a global “mobilisation of consciences” to protect persecuted Christians. “They have a right to find security and peace in their own countries while freely professing their faith…Read More

Nuns Risk Lives to Serve Syrian Refugees

Near the Lebanon-Syria border, two religious sisters are among the staff members at a refugee service center working to give relief – and hope – to thousands who have fled the armed conflict in Syria.

“I keep my hope in prayer,” Sister Micheline Lattouff, a Good Shepherd Sister, told CNA at a Nov. 1 meeting with journalists in Beirut.

“I seek how to help the children, how to help the families,” she said, calling the refugees “victims in their own country.”

Sr. Micheline is director of the Social and Community Center of the Good Shepherd in Deir-al-Ahmar, a Christian village in Lebanon’s northern Bekaa Valley.

She and another Good Shepherd Sister are among the half dozen staff members who help both local Lebanese and 8,000 to 9,000 Syrian refugees who are among the millions displaced since the Syrian conflict began in 2011.

The refugee numbers keep growing. Sixty to 80 refugee families, ranging in size from five to 15 people, arrive in the area each month…Read More

Kenneth Copeland Honors the Munroes

Hello, I’m Kenneth Copeland.

We here at KCM received the word just a little while ago of the homegoing of Dr. Myles Munroe and his lovely wife, Ruth.

Myles and Ruth Munroe, and their ministry, have been long-time friends of Kenneth Copeland Ministries, and with Gloria and me, for well over 35 years.

Dr. Myles Munroe was a strong man of The WORD of God—a strong and gifted leader in the Body of Christ with an anointing to minister to ministers and teach and train leaders to be leaders in Christ Jesus, in the things of God, and in the victory that we have in Jesus Christ as LORD and Savior. His lovely wife, Ruth, was equally as strong in the LORD and a powerful minister of the gospel in her own right.

Of course they will be missed. And, of course we miss the strength that God placed in them. Ah, but no, we don’t sorrow and mourn their passing. The Scripture says sorrow not, for we are not a people without hope. We know, beyond a shadow of any doubt, that Myles and Ruth Munroe just stepped into the presence of Jesus, and thanks be unto God He always gives us victory over death. He bought it, He paid for it and it is ours!

Their ministry, Bahamas Faith Ministries International Fellowship, will not diminish. It will not go away. It is strong in The LORD and in the power of His might. It will continue. It will continue to grow. It will continue to preach the gospel. And all of the leaders that this man of God has taught and trained in the Body of Christ, and in businesses and Christian enterprises all over the world, will continue to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ because of the richness of Dr. Myles Munroe’s spirit and his strength and integrity here on this earth.

We’re blessed to have had them among us for these many years. Even more blessed that it won’t be long now. Soon and very soon, Jesus is coming. There’s going to be a great change and we are going to be caught up with Him in the air. And forever, and evermore, we will be with Him.

We take great comfort in these thoughts, and words.

In closing, may I remind you of Hebrews 2:9: “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.” Every born-again believer—Jesus has tasted death for us. The word taste represents the five physical senses. You can’t taste it when you die. You can’t smell it when you die. You can’t hear it when you die. You can’t feel it when you die. Now, what does that mean? You’ll never know it! Myles and Ruth, and all the people in that airplane, they never knew it. No, no. You can’t taste it; you can’t smell it; you can’t see it; you can’t hear it; you can’t feel it! You never know it. It’s just suddenly—you’re in the presence of Jesus!

How wonderful is that? And let us all take heart, and remember—that JESUS IS LORD!

Nigerian Muslim Extremists Force Christian Children To Watch Their Parents Get Slaughtered

Muslims in Nigeria, all members of Boko Haram, have been forcing Christian children to watch their own parents get slaughtered right before their eyes. This was reported in a recent Christian conference in Nigeria between church leaders.

In the conference it was declared in a statement that “in territories controlled by Boko Haram that the insurgents slaughter Christian parents and brothers in the presence of their wives and children.”
This is part of a major plan to systematically exterminate Christians, as was made clear in the conference.

In the meeting “Bishop Shehaan Pastorial Center, the Christian leaders, in a communiqué issued signed by the Catholic Bishop of Yola, Stephen Dami Mamza, Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria, LCCN’s Archbishop, Nemuel Babba; Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria, EYN President, Samuel Dali Danti; and LCCN Bishop, Amos Yakubu” all agreed that Christians are being systematically exterminated in Nigeria.
The statement made this clear: We are also worried that the Christians are been systematically eliminated by members of the Boko Haram Islamic extremists. We are forced to believe that the whole attack is a deliberate plan to exterminate Christians living in the affected areas… Read More
