‘A New Jesus Movement in America’: More Than 35,000 Pray for Revival in Washington D.C.

‘A New Jesus Movement in America’: More Than 35,000 Pray for Revival in Washington D.C.

On Sunday, over 35,000 people gathered for the Let Us Worship tour in Washington D.C. to intercede for the future of America.

The tour, which gathered throughout the day at different locations, began in front of the Supreme Court. There, believers prayed and worshipped ahead of Justice Amy Coney Barrett’s likely confirmation to the Supreme Court.

Bethel worship leader Sean Feucht, who has been leading the tour across the U.S. since the summer, noted that it was “the largest prayer gathering in front of the Supreme Court since Roe v. Wade.”

People gathering in DC

Dr. Charles Karaku of International Outreach Church lamented the substantial amounts of abortion that have taken place since Roe v. Wade was passed and asserted that abortions must be stopped.

“WHILE PRAYING ON THE STEPS OF WASHINGTON DC SUPREME COURT IT FELT LIKE WE STOOD ON THE AMERICAN VALLEY OF DRY BONES. IT IS FULL OF 62,000,000 DRY BONES OF A NATION OF ABORTED BABIES,” he wrote on Facebook, adding that the large number of abortions equates to the population of France or Italy.

“We have wiped out approximately the entire population of France or Italy. We have sacrificed these babies on the altars of comfort and convenience,” he continued.

Karuku called for abortion clinics across the U.S. to be defunded and shut down and for pro-choice politicians and political parties to be removed and…

‘A Glorious Day’: Sudan Is 3rd Muslim Nation to Agree to Peace with Israel under Trump

‘A Glorious Day’: Sudan Is 3rd Muslim Nation to Agree to Peace with Israel under Trump

In what the White House called a “historic deal,” Sudan agreed Friday to normalize relations with Israel, thus becoming the third Middle Eastern and predominantly Muslim country since summer to agree to peace with the Jewish state.

In August, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain also agreed to normalize relations. Leaders of both nations joined Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in September at the White House for a signing ceremony as part of what was dubbed the “Abraham Accords.”

Friday’s announcement took place in the Oval Office, with Trump leading a conference call with Netanyahu and Sudan Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok. The White House said the agreement expands the Abraham Accords.

“Today’s peace agreement will enhance Israel’s security and end Sudan’s long isolation from the world because of what was taking place,” Trump said. “It will unlock new opportunities for trade and commerce, education and research, and cooperation and friendship for both peoples.”

Days earlier, the U.S. had removed Sudan from its list of state sponsors of terrorism. Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of the 2001 terrorist attacks, lived in Sudan during the 1990s.

The two nations will begin negotiations in the coming weeks on cooperative agreements in “agriculture, economy, trade, aviation, migration issues, and other areas of mutual…

Pastor David Platt Calls for Church Unity amid ‘Toxic Political Climate’

Pastor David Platt Calls for Church Unity amid ‘Toxic Political Climate’

In an interview with The Christian Post, Pastor David Platt of McLean Bible Church in Vienna, Virginia, explained what it means for Christians to vote ahead of the 2020 presidential election.

Platt’s latest book, titled Before You Vote: Seven Questions Every Christian Should Ask, was published last month as Platt felt that it was essential for Christians to have healthy political discussions while remaining united in Christ as His church.

Platt’s inspiration behind the book came after he prayed for President Trump, who made a surprise visit to Platt’s church last year.

Platt, who was then criticized for the move, lamented that division had run rampant amongst Christians today when it comes to politics.

“I don’t want to see the church further divided or the name of Christ further defamed. Instead, I long to see a united church that exalts the name of Christ in this toxic political climate,” he asserted.

Several questions posed throughout the book include: Does God call me to vote? Who has my heart? What does my neighbor need? and How do I weigh the issues?

“In the end, what’s most important, and what I am definitively advocating for based on God’s Word, is the realization that how we use our vote is a matter of faithfulness before God,” Platt explained. “For our vote is a unique privilege and responsibility that God has entrusted to us by…

Kanye West Shares New Details Surrounding His Presidential Bid on Popular Podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience

Kanye West Shares New Details Surrounding His Presidential Bid on Popular Podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience

Rapper and pop star Kanye West just had a lengthy interview with Joe Rogan on his podcast The Joe Rogan Experience.

In the podcast, West, an outspoken Christian, talked about his reasons for running for President of the United States, how many friends cautioned him against it, and other details that were previously unreleased.

For one, West first had the idea of running in 2015. “It was something that God put in my heart back in 2015. A few days before the MTV awards it hit me in the shower,” West told Rogan. “When I first thought of it, I just started laughing to myself and all this joy came over my body, through my soul.”

West also told Rogan that a lot of his friends cautioned him against running, but he has decided to make another bid in 2024. “If it’s in God’s plan that part of my path is to be the governor then that’s fine, but my calling is to be the leader of the free world. I’m definitely 100% winning in 2024,” he said.

One of his friends, Media Mogul Oprah Winfrey, told him he would need to become more informed on foreign policy. Others also cautioned him in various ways, he told Rogan.

This interview follows him releasing a new campaign song and video to Instagram and Twitter, with an inspiring message for Christians to vote their conscience. In the song, West highlighted the corruption of the…

Ron Carpenter settles legal disputes with Pastor John Gray

Redemption Church Pastor Ron Carpenter Jr. | Facebook/Ron Carpenter Jr

After nearly a year of public legal disputes over church property, megachurch pastors John Gray and Ron Carpenter Jr. have settled their differences after a successful mediation process, Carpenter said.

The peace deal between the megachurch pastors comes in the wake of an announcement by Carpenter earlier this month that he will return to Greenville, South Carolina, with a new campus of his Redemption Church in January 2021.

“Yesterday, everything was mutually agreed to. There are no more lawsuits. All legal matters are finished,” Carpenter told Greenville News on Saturday after a Vision Night event in Greenville.

Carpenter and his wife, Hope, moved their Redemption Church brand from Greenville to San Jose, California, in 2018 to take over as new pastors of the 14,000-member Jubilee Christian Center. In making the move, they passed the reins of the Greenville church they led for 27 years to Gray and his wife, Aventer, who rebranded the congregation Relentless Church.

After a slew of controversies, including Relentless Church’s purchase of a $1.8 million home for the Grays and conflict over the transition…

Christian Girl, 13, Forcibly Married, Converted in Pakistan, Father Says

Christian Girl, 13, Forcibly Married, Converted in Pakistan, Father Says

LAHORE, Pakistan, October 26, 2020 (Morning Star News) – Police in Karachi, Pakistan are ignoring the kidnapping and forcible conversion to Islam of a 13-year-old Christian girl by a 45-year-old Muslim whose two brothers are police officials, sources said.

Ali Azhar, a neighbor of the victim’s Catholic family, abducted Arzoo Raja on Oct. 13, and her family went to police that same day, said her father, Raja Lal.

“When we failed to find Arzoo, we registered a kidnapping case with the local police station,” Lal said. “On Oct. 15 we were summoned to the station, where we were shown documents which claimed that Arzoo was 18 and had willingly converted to Islam after marrying Ali Azhar.”

Police have shown no interest in arresting the accused in spite of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) records showing Arzoo’s age as 13, as she was born on July 31, 2007, he said. Sexual intercourse with a girl below the age of 16 is statutory rape and carries a death sentence or a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison in Pakistan.

Ghazala Shafique, a Karachi-based Christian rights and social activist, said police were doing little in the case.

“Two brothers of the accused are police officials, and they are using their influence to protect him,” Shafique told Morning Star News. “Attorney [Noor Naz] Agha brought this to the court’s notice…

Catholic Archbishop Pays for Portland, Leads ‘Exorcism’ of City

Catholic Archbishop Pays for Portland, Leads ‘Exorcism’ of City

A Catholic archbishop in Portland led a prayer session and “exorcism” over the city and asked God to help end the violence and riots there, CBN News reports.

Portland’s Archbishop Alexander Sample prayed at his parish, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, before a Catholic sacrament and then led a Procession down the street on October 17th.

Sample called the event an “exorcism” of Portland, but he said it was more tongue-in-cheek than a true exorcism. According to CBN News, he stated, “I wasn’t trying to suggest that I think the city of Portland is possessed. It’s not that at all. It’s just a prayer of blessing prayed by the clergy, especially a bishop over a community just asking that all the influences of the Evil One be driven away.”

However, some really do believe there is a wickedness in the air at Portland. One reporter, Andy Ngo, stated on Twitter “Many of the people I’ve seen engaging in violence in Portland can only be described as wicked.”

Andy Ngo is a journalist who had been previously beaten and harassed by Antifa activists in Portland. He was sent to the hospital for injuries sustained by rioters.

But Andy Ngo isn’t the only one Tweeting about there being evil in Portland. Others in the comments section of his tweets have echoed his sentiments. One wrote, “I believe we are witnessing spiritual warfare.”

The Twitter account Cultural Front, also…

North Carolina Megachurch Says It Won’t Reopen until There Is a COVID-19 Vaccine

North Carolina Megachurch Says It Won’t Reopen until There Is a COVID-19 Vaccine

One of North Carolina’s largest churches, World Overcomers Christian Church, says it will not hold in-person services until a vaccine for coronavirus is developed.

“When our people are able to come back together, they’re going to want to greet one another and hug one another, and in my estimation, the risks are too great,” Andy Thompson, senior pastor of the 15,000-member church, told CBS 17.  “We have to figure out ways to minister to people beyond just them risking contact in the middle of a pandemic.”

According to The Christian Post, the church pointed to a recent report from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, which showed an increase in clusters of coronavirus cases linked to social gatherings.

The department defines a cluster as the occurrence of five or more epidemiologically linked cases within 14 days of each other.

The report said religious gatherings ranked third on the list of social gatherings potentially creating clusters.

In light of the report, Thompson said World Overcomers Christian Church will continue streaming services online.

“Church for us is just growing. We’ve never had this many people watching,” he said. “I don’t think I’ll ever go back to having church the way I did before.”

Thompson said he worries about other churches that have decided to return to in-person…

Trump Calls Himself ‘Non-Denominational Christian,’ Says He’s ‘Thankful to God’ for Healing from Virus

Trump Calls Himself ‘Non-Denominational Christian,’ Says He’s ‘Thankful to God’ for Healing from Virus

President Trump says in a new interview he identifies as a “non-denominational Christian” and that he thanks God for his healing from Covid-19.

Trump’s comments came in a written interview with Religion News Service, which called it a “rare exchange” about religion with a president who has a close relationship with Christian leaders but seldom discusses his own faith.

Trump grew up Presbyterian and was confirmed in 1959 at First Presbyterian Church in Jamaica, Queens, the oldest continuously serving Presbyterian church in the U.S. He told RNS his parents “taught me the importance of faith and prayer from a young age,”

He called himself a Presbyterian when he ran for president in 2016, yet told RNS he has changed his faith identity.

“Though I was confirmed at a Presbyterian church as a child, I now consider myself to be a non-denominational Christian,” Trump said.

Trump added, “Melania and I have gotten to visit some amazing churches and meet with great faith leaders from around the world. During the unprecedented COVID-19 outbreak, I tuned into several virtual church services and know that millions of Americans did the same.”

Asked by RNS what he learned during his battle with Covid-19, Trump said he “felt the prayers of Americans from all across the country – and even around the world.”

“I said,…

Religious Terms Replaced or Removed from Christian Books to Avoid China’s Internet Censorship

Religious Terms Replaced or Removed from Christian Books to Avoid China’s Internet Censorship

Two government-sanctioned Christian organizations are seeking alternative ways to sell their religious books online due to censorship established by the Chinese Communist Party.

According to ChinaAid, The Christian Council of China – a human rights Christian group for Chinese citizens – and the Committee of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement of the Protestant Churches of China are utilizing Chinese pinyin in expressing religious terms in their books that would otherwise be censored by the CCP.

The TutorMing Mandarin Learning Tips Blog defines pinyin as “the Romanization of the Chinese characters based on their pronunciation.”

In Mandarin Chinese, the phrase “Pin Yin” literally translates into “spell sound,” the article explains. “In other words, spelling out Chinese phrases with letters from the English alphabet.”

In the case of both Christian groups, the use of pinyin has been increasingly evident in replacing or removing religious terms on the titles and descriptions of their books in order to successfully sell them online.

ChinaAid notes that since March 30, 2018, the “Holy Bible” was removed from China’s online bookstores, including Taobao, Jingdong, WeChat store, Dangdang, and Amazon China.

One online Chinese Christian bookstore, however, recently found a way around the CCP’s religious…
