‘God Hears Our Prayers’: President Trump Asks God for Wisdom, Grace in Leading America

On Sunday, President Trump participated in a “Call to Prayer” phone conference for people affected by COVID-19. Also in the meeting were several prominent Christian leaders, Premier Christian News reports.

“Every family who lost a loved one … I just want to say an extra-special prayer,” Trump said over the phone. “People have lost loved ones, it should never have happened. Nobody had heard of a thing like this a few months before and all of a sudden, they are losing people.

“I want to give my warmest sympathies to the families that have lost someone. I’ve lost many friends … five friends,” he added.

Trump then encouraged viewers saying, “God hears our prayers” and “He’s always with us and He’ll help us overcome this challenge.”

The president also said that he has recently tested negative for COVID-19 after he had contracted the disease earlier this month.

In his closing remarks, Trump thanked the Lord “for working miracles’ and asked God “for the wisdom and the grace to continue to lead our country, and to lead it at the top level.”

Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, hosted Sunday’s prayer call and told viewers that the prayer calls would continue every Sunday going forward at 5 p.m.

Several charismatic leaders including presidential advisor Paula-White Cain, Daystar’s Joni Lamb, televangelist James Robison and Rev. Samuel Rodriguez…

Women Gather on Capitol Hill to Pray for Amy Coney Barrett

Women Gather on Capitol Hill to Pray for Amy Coney Barrett

On the first day of Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation hearing, Concerned Women for America gathered on Capitol Hill to pray and protest in favor of her confirmation, The Christian Post reports.

Coney Barrett is expected to fill the vacancy left behind following the death of the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Monday’s prayer rally was just one part of a campaign organized by Concerned Women for America titled “Women for Amy.”

The goal of the campaign, according to Penny Young Nance, the CEO of Concerned Women for America, is to “voice their support on behalf of Amy Coney Barrett as she went into her hearing.”

In an interview with The Christian Post, Nance shared that the women “were lining the streets on Constitution Avenue and welcoming her so that she knew there was support for her and women of faith in support of her nomination.”

They group all arrived in a pink bus that featured a picture of Coney Barrett and the words “Women for Amy” written in large letters on the side. On the back of the bus was written “Another Great Justice.”

Amy Coney Barrett was chosen by President Trump because of her experience on the court and her strong views on originalism concerning the U.S. Code.

Trump originally wanted to go with her over Justice Kavanaugh, but her lack of court experience, and Kavanaugh’s extensive experience, swayed him to choose Kavanaugh. Since Kavanaugh’s confirmation, however, Coney…

Cat is Escorted Off a Train in China After Being Caught on Board Without a Ticket – Urban Christian News

Viral footage has captured the moment a cat was escorted off a train after the furry passenger was spotted ‘travelling without a ticket’.

The feline, believed to be a stray, sneaked onto a high-speed train in China yesterday, seemingly trying to hitch a free ride.

After being caught red-handed, the animal is seen trotting on its hind legs with tiny steps as it was carried out of the carriage by a railway officer.

Millions of Chinese social media users were amused by the scene captured by a passenger in north-western Chinese region Inner Mongolia on Sunday.

The woman wrote in her post jokingly that the furry traveller had been ‘forced to leave the train after refusing to buy a ticket’.

In the video, the stray cat is seen wandering around the carriage before being picked up by a male on-board officer.

The man held up the animal’s body, leading it towards the train door, as the furry passenger walked on its hind legs while being escorted.

After removing the ‘unruly traveller’, the worker then placed the cat back onto the platform.

It remains unclear how the Chinese station dealt with the animal following the incident.

The video amused millions of Chinese social media users who thought the cat’s behaviour was ‘adorable’ and ‘hilarious’.

But other netizens voiced their concerns for the animal as they believed it had been a pet cat that got lost or abandoned.

62 Percent of Voters Say Judicial Nominees Should Not Be Questioned about Their Faith: Poll

62 Percent of Voters Say Judicial Nominees Should Not Be Questioned about Their Faith: Poll

A new poll by Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy reveals that just 30 percent of registered voters believe Supreme Court nominees should be asked about their religious beliefs. Of the remaining 70 percent, 62 percent believe they should not, and 8 percent are undecided. First Liberty shared this poll with Republican Senator Lindsey Graham in a memo.

This comes on the heels of the Supreme Court hearing for Amy Coney Barrett, where Democrats grilled her for her affiliation with an Indiana Christian school that upholds the Biblical definition of marriage, The Christian Post reports.

According to The Christian Post, this is the first in at least ten different occasions they have grilled President Trump’s judicial nominees over religion.

In the memo to Lindsey Graham, First Liberty states that “Questions directed at the religious beliefs of past nominees—including Judge Barrett—have been concerning to many Americans, including us. In nearly every other employment context, asking questions concerning an applicant’s religious beliefs would be an employment law violation.”

According to the intro to the poll written by Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy, 1,000 registered voters were asked the question in addition to whether they were likely to vote. They all claimed they were likely voters. The margin of error for the poll was 3.2 percent at 95 percent confidence, meaning as…

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Argues Republicans Would Reject Jesus Today if He ‘Repeated His Teachings’ in Congress

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Argues Republicans Would Reject Jesus Today if He ‘Repeated His Teachings’ in Congress

In a series of tweets on Monday, Congresswoman Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) rebuked Republicans for using matters of faith “as an excuse to advance bigotry and barbarism.”

According to The Blaze, Ocasio-Cortez made the accusation after the first day of Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation hearing, where several Republican Senators defended Barrett’s Catholic faith against attacks of “religious bigotry” from the left.

Conversely, Democratic Senators warned that if Barrett was confirmed to the Supreme Court, Republicans would have the ability to push far-right policies, such as overturning Roe V. Wade, in the name of religious freedom.

Despite defending Barrett’s faith, Ocasio-Cortez proceeded to accuse GOP members of religious hypocrisy, claiming that they would reject Jesus if he appeared before Congress today to present His teachings.

“Sick and tired of Republicans who co-opt faith as an excuse to advance bigotry and barbarism,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote on Twitter. “Fact is, if today Christ himself came to the floor of Congress and repeated his teachings, many would malign him as a radical and eject him from the chamber.”

‘I Believe in the Power of Prayer’: Amy Coney Barrett Thanks Americans for Encouragement

‘I Believe in the Power of Prayer’: Amy Coney Barrett Thanks Americans for Encouragement

America’s courts have a limited role in society and are not intended to “right every wrong,” Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett said Monday during her opening statement to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee.

“Courts have a vital responsibility to enforce the rule of law, which is critical to a free society,” Barrett said. “But courts are not designed to solve every problem or right every wrong in our public life. The policy decisions and value judgments of government must be made by the political branches elected by and accountable to the people. The public should not expect courts to do so, and courts should not try. That is the approach I have strived to follow as a judge on the Seventh Circuit.”

President Trump nominated Barrett to replace the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who served 27 years on the court and died Sept. 18. If confirmed, Barrett would be the fifth woman to serve on the high court, but the first mother of school-age children to serve.

She thanked Americans for their encouragement and prayers.

Barrett, 48, was confirmed to the U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in 2017 after serving as a law professor at the University of Notre Dame. She and her husband, Jesse, have seven children.

“In every case, I have carefully considered the arguments presented by the parties, discussed the issues with my colleagues on the court, and done my…

Oreo rainbow cookies and looting in LA: Is Hosea’s warning relevant to us today?

Los Angeles Lakers fans celebrate outside of Staples Center, Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020, in Los Angeles, after the Lakers defeated the Miami Heat in Game 6 of basketball’s NBA Finals to win the championship. (AP Photo/Christian Monterrosa)

Oreo has released limited-edition rainbow cookies in support of the LGBTQ+ community. They are not sold in stores; to receive a pack, you need to share a photo of “you and your friends at last year’s Pride parade, your chosen family, or how you show allyship for others.”

In other news, crowds in Los Angeles gathered in defiance of COVID-19 guidelines after the Lakers won the NBA title Sunday. Looting broke out, and bottles and fireworks were thrown at police. The police department arrested seventy-six people for “confrontational, violent, and destructive behavior.” Eight officers were injured, and more than thirty buildings were damaged.

Meanwhile, protesters in Portland knocked down statues of Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln in a declaration of “rage” toward Columbus Day. And a second wave of coronavirus infections has struck Europe, with record-high daily infections in several countries amid a widespread case of “COVID-fatigue.”

Here’s another sign that’s a sign of the times: The Satanic Temple wants to put up billboards that show people how to obtain abortions more easily.

Their “religious abortion ritual” is supposed to be a “sacramental act that confirms the right of bodily autonomy.” According to the Satanic Temple, if people perform this ritual, they can claim a religious exemption from mandatory waiting periods, counseling, ultrasounds, and other measures required by some states before an abortion can be performed.

However, billboards promoting their ritual have been declined by Lamar Advertising. In response, the Satanic Temple has sued the company. In their lawsuit, they state that Lamar rejected the content of the billboards as “misleading and…

123 Students, Faculty Contract COVID-19 at Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry

123 Students, Faculty Contract COVID-19 at Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry

Bethel Church-affiliated Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry, located in the small California county of Shasta, reportedly has 123 positive cases of coronavirus among its students and faculty.

The county has received a grand total of 1,158 cases since March. The latest spike hit 500 confirmed cases, of which the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry has 123. The school has advised all faculty and staff who may have come into contact with the students with confirmed cases to quarantine at home to help mitigate the spread to others.

According to the Associated Press, the county is facing “a new level of regulations on restaurants, bars, theaters and businesses” as a response to the case spikes. The school has also begun to shift to online teaching and has cancelled its in-person church services for October 4th and 11th, which would have been held outside.

According to statements given to the Redding Record Searchlight, “Bethel has said its School of Supernatural Ministry accepted fewer students for its 2020-2021 academic school year and will be operating at 70 percent capacity due to the coronavirus pandemic — from 2,300 students last year to 1,600 this year.”

While some have predicted that the lockdowns and restrictions have been lifesaving, others have determined that the restrictions have cause the pandemic to last longer than it would have if states had…

Judge Sides with D.C. Church: City’s Ban on Outdoor Worship Violates Federal Law

Judge Sides with D.C. Church: City’s Ban on Outdoor Worship Violates Federal Law

A federal judge handed a Washington, D.C. church a major religious liberty victory Friday, ruling it could gather outdoors for worship services during the pandemic in spite of city restrictions.

At issue were restrictions by the city and Mayor Muriel Bowser that ban religious gatherings larger than 100 individuals, even if they are held outside.

Capitol Hill Baptist Church (CHBC), which had around 1,000 attendees each Sunday prior to the pandemic, sued the city and asserted the restrictions violated its rights under the U.S. Constitution and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, a 1993 law. Its pastor is Mark Dever, a well-known author and speaker.

The congregation asked District Judge Trevor McFadden to allow it to gather outside its building, provided it practices social distancing and uses masks. McFadden agreed.

“The District’s current restrictions substantially burden the Church’s exercise of religion. More, the District has failed to offer evidence at this stage showing that it has a compelling interest in preventing the Church from meeting outdoors with appropriate precautions, or that this prohibition is the least-restrictive means to achieve its interest,” McFadden wrote in a 26-page opinion in issuing a preliminary injunction. The congregation likely will succeed in its suit, he wrote.

The church would have faced fines of $1,000 per violation if it…
