Book Review: 40 MARITAL TABLETS by: Rotimi Abiodun

40 MARITAL TABLETS by: Rotimi Abiodun

Powerful words from Rotimi Abiodun the author of “40 Marital Tablets”, the drive and motive beyond this insightful book will set any marriage facing rough time strength, it will amend any broken home and it will give purpose to any home or marriage seeking for one. He said “the 40 Marital Tablets are meant to prepare singles, heal homes, strengthen relationships and sweeten bitter experience.”

The principles shared in the book are not what you can come across in any book, when he told me he got the understanding from the book of Genesis, I had to check it out myself and the most amazing thing was that I have never seen it that way until I read it from the book of Genesis chapter two vs. eighteen.
The words of God are powerful; it reviews itself to you in order to overcome challenges facing you at any particular time. It will interest you to know that God designed marriage around these 40 Tablets, to guide you and teach you on your marital journey, I am enjoying all the TABLETS Rotimi shared in this laudable book that is full of wisdom.

The book 40 MARTAL TABLETS is not just word based; it has a lot of pictures and short quotes that you can meditate on. There is a chapter where the author talked about LEAVE AND CLEAVE, he has this quote on it that shines more light on leaving and cleaving he said, “The leaving and cleaving from the man must not be a one off action, but rather a decision that must be actively preserved all through life.”

In another chapter where Rotimi wrote about THE SUITABLE WOMAN, he said “No man can make a woman suitable for himself no matter how wise he is. If women were manmade like cars, men can choose their preferred features and specifications at will; but they unfortunately cannot.” It shows that all things were planned by God even your child is planned by Him when He was creating you.

The author, Rotimi Abiodun also included KEY ACTIONS and KEY PRAYER PONITS at the end of each chapter which I believe will help you know what you should pray for. I should also let you know that the book is not for marriage folks only; you will enjoy it if you are single.

In the book you will discover how to know God’s purpose for your life when it comes to marriage, he said “the primary purpose of marriage is to fill up the space created by God’s surgical operation that took away one rib from the man and to make the man move from being a fraction of his fill potentials to a complete and whole state.”

I extremely recommend 40 MARITAL TABLETS by; Rotimi Abiodun as the book you need to read to add more wisdom to you, this book has blessed me and added more value to my life. I hope it does the same to you. Thanks

Christian and Muslim Leaders Unite for Justice over Couple Burned in Kiln

In the two weeks since a Christian couple was killed by a Muslim mob in Pakistan, local leaders from both religions have come together repeatedly to call for justice in the matter, and an end to the misuse of blasphemy allegations.

On Nov. 4, Shahzad Masih and his wife Shama were reportedly killed and their bodies burned by a mob after they were accused of desecrating the Quran. The couple lived in Kot Radha Kishan, a city located nearly 40 miles southwest of Lahore.

The couple worked at a brick kiln, and it has been reported that the kiln owner noticed Shama burning some belongings of her recently-deceased father-in-law, and charged that some pages she burnt were from the Quran – he then detained them. They owed him money, and he refused to release them without being paid.

It was then announced from local mosques that the couple had desecrated the Quran, and a mob forced their way into the room where the Masihs were held, and beat them. Reports vary as to whether or not the couple’s bodies were thrown into the kiln before or after their deaths.

The incident has led to calls for better justice and increased solidarity throughout Pakistan…Read More

New York Church to Host Free Thanksgiving Dinner

A New York church is gearing up for it’s fifth annual Thanksgiving dinner, which is expected to feed 1,000 people.

Pastor Reggie Stutzman of the Real Life Church in New York City, will lead 120 volunteers in hosting a restaurant-style Thanksgiving dinner in Hunts Point, Bronx next week.

Guests will be treated to a “full turkey dinner” as well as musical entertainment. They will then be free to take home a variety of donated supplies, including used clothing and toiletries, and the event is entirely free.

“It’s our fifth year and we do it every year at a place in Hunts Point called The Point (a community development center). In the last four years we’ve fed around 3,000 people. We get [the food] from The Bowery Mission,” Stutzman told The Christian Post. “So it’s a full turkey dinner with all the trimmings and then free clothes and free toiletries.”

Guests, who Stutzman described as being a “good mix of people,” are free to walk in on Thanksgiving between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. They will then be seated and served without the hassle of long lines.

“It’s all waiter-style, I don’t want any numbers or any lines. I want people to be treated as they would in a restaurant,” he said. “We’ll have some volunteers that actually plate the food and then others that will waiter it out and wait on people. Other people are cutting pieces of pie and putting it on plates … and then clean up and so forth so it’s a beautiful day.”

This year Stutzman, who began hosting the free Thanksgiving dinner in 2010, worked closely with World Vision and other organizations that assisted in making it all possible. The event has become the church’s signature outreach…Read More

London Churches Open HIV Testing Centres

HIV testing clinics have been opened in churches across London in the hopes of combatting high rates of infection as well as social stigma among the African population.

Four African churches in Southwark, New Cross, Dagenham and Wood Green are involved in the project, which is coinciding with National HIV Testing Week from November 22 to 30.

Behind the campaign is Rev Fred Annin, the founder and CEO of Actionplus Foundation, which is working to support those with the virus, as well as put an end to it completely, both in Ghana and the UK. He wants the church to lead the movement, and the foundation therefore offers training for pastors and community leaders on the facts about HIV.

Actionplus was the first organisation to set up an HIV testing clinic in a church in London, and launched its Take Action Now campaign last year.

“The Bible does not condemn people with HIV as cursed. It shouldn’t be taboo to discuss it in churches. It’s a medical condition and people need medical help. Prayer cannot bring our health back when we ignore medicine,” Annin said.

“Our vision is a world where people affected by HIV do not experience poverty, ill health and prejudice. We support people living with HIV/AIDS to play a central role in improving their own lives, leading to permanent and lasting solutions…Read More

“We must storm the heavens with prayers”, Nigerian Archbishop on Boko Haram

As Boko Haram expands its attacks across neighbouring Cameroon, a Nigerian Archbishop has urged Christians to “storm the heavens” in prayer.

“We thank God for his mercy and faithfulness. We may not have received everything we prayed for, but by his grace most of us are still alive and we have remained one people and one nation,” Archbishop of Jos, Ignatius A Kaigama of Jos, Nigeria, told those gathered at an overnight National Prayer Pilgrimage last week.

“Today, gauging the general despair and disillusionment in the land, we converge here again to cry on to the Lord for enduring peace and for God to stir strongly in the hearts of Nigerians the spirit to transcend narrow ethnic, religious, and political boundaries so as to always pursue the common good.”

The Archbishop, who is also the president of the Nigerian episcopal conference, said that “fervent prayer” is necessary to bring together a nation fractured by militant attacks. “As Catholics, we believe that prayer, made with deep faith, can move mountains and calm storms and that prayer is our most powerful weapon as we face the multidimensional challenges in contemporary Nigeria,” he added.

However, he also insisted that “prayer alone without good works is inadequate,” and called on all Nigerians to work together for common good.

“Not to do our work well, to wish your neighbour harm or to engage in bitter, hostile, antagonistic political, religious or ethnic struggles that lead to loss of lives and the destruction of property and still claim to be people of faith is mere religious externalism devoid of godliness,” he said.

“Our invitation to prayer is not meant to be a substitute for individual responsibility where we each play our parts to contribute to the welfare of all of us and our nation. With good behaviour, good works and fervent prayers, we can overcome all obstacles and rise to the highest heights…Read More

Asia Bibi, Husband urges President to Grant Blasphemy Pardon

The husband of Asia Bibi, the Christian woman sentenced to death in Pakistan after being found guilty of blasphemy, has urged the country’s president to free his wife and allow her to move to France.

Pakistan’s high court recently upheld the conviction against Ms Bibi, who was accused in 2009 of insulting the Prophet Muhammad after a group of Muslim women in her home village of Itanwali refused to drink from the same glass as a Christian.

Ms Bibi’s husband Ashiq Mashi has now written an open letter in which he describes the conditions his wife is being held in as “terrible” and that her live could only be saved by a pardon from Pakistan’s president Mamnoon Hussain.

“We are convinced that Asia will only be saved from being hanged if the venerable President Mamnoon Hussain grants her a pardon. No one should be killed for drinking a glass of water,” wrote Mr Mashi.

“After my wife had spent four long years in prison in terrible conditions, we were hoping that the high court of Lahore would free my wife. She did not commit blasphemy, never. Since the court confirmed the death sentence on October 16, we do not understand why our country, our beloved Pakistan, is so against us. Our family has always lived here in peace, and we never had any disturbance.

“We are Christians but we respect Islam. Our neighbours are Muslims and we have always lived well with them in our little village. But for some years now the situation in Pakistan has changed because of just a few people, and we are afraid. Today many of our Muslim friends cannot understand why the Pakistani justice system is making our family suffer so much…Read More

SCOAN Update: Nigerian Students Plan Mass Protest in Support of T.B. Joshua

Nigerian students from different parts of the country stormed the premises of the Ikeja High Court, Lagos during the Thursday November 20, 2014 hearing in the coroner’s inquest into the collapsed Synagogue, Church Of All Nations building.

The placard-carrying students called on the Federal Government as well as the Lagos State Government to face the real issues and avoid the diversionary tactics aimed at witch-hunting Prophet T.B. Joshua, whom they described as a fatherly figure.

The students observed that unless the government made tangible efforts to address pertinent issues surrounding the collapse of the church building, they would have no choice than to embark on a nation-wide mass protest in solidarity with Joshua.

According to a spokesperson for the students and a student of the Delta State University, Abraka, who preferred anonymity: “Please, government should leave this man alone; he has been like a father to us, giving us scholarships and supporting our cause. We wonder why a residential area should become a training route for military aircraft. Why cover up the truth in pursuit of lies? If government fails to address some of these pertinent questions begging for answers, we will mobilize all Nigerian students for a mass protest nationwide in solidarity with our father, Prophet T.B. Joshua”.

Meanwhile, the police witness, DSP Olushola Agboyi, still maintained his position that the Synagogue building collapsed as a result of sabotage through an explosion with either electronic or chemical devices.

Despite subtle threats from the magistrate, he stood his ground saying, “I have firm belief through thorough investigation conducted by me and my men that we can’t rule out the issue of sabotage. I came to the conclusion that it was a case of either chemical or electronic demolition due to the following three facts: first, when I got to the scene of the incident, I discovered the buildings fell with floors laying on each other. Secondly, I discovered that the smoke like particles from the video is typical of explosions which I learnt from my training as a police officer. Thirdly, the building fell in one swoop and in seconds which is a clear example of controlled demolition…Read More

Actress Compared to Jesus

Hollywood actress Jennifer Lawrence has been compared to Jesus Christ and Joan of Arc by a co-star from The Hunger Games.

The star, who plays heroine Katniss Everdeen in the film franchise, has received praise for her previous work, which includes films such as Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle.

Now, the 24-year-old, who’s also won an Oscar for ‘Best Actress’, has been compared to the Messiah.

Donald Sutherland, who stars opposite her as ‘President Snow’ in the Hunger Games, says when he worked with her, he “realized she was a genius”.

He reportedly told E! Online during an interview, “She’s the right person at the right time, in the sense of Joan of Arc or Jesus Christ, any genius, in that sense.”

“She has the ability as an actor to tell the truth out of the material and that truth is immediately recognizable with everybody because it hits you in your heart, your solar plexus and your mind.”

“And she has the genius of person to be not affected by all of this. She’s just a real girl.”

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 was released in UK cinemas this week.

Airline Fees Worth Paying This Season

You pay more than enough for airfare, blowing it up with optional fees is crazy, right? Except during the holidays. Sometimes it pays to pay more, and here are five of the more useful fees plus one non-airline offering you should consider.

1. Early boarding

If you are a typically disorganized family (or want to be sure of room for a carry-on), this is the fee for you. It can be cheap, too: Southwest’s EarlyBird boarding is only $12.50 while American’s Main Cabin Extra starts at $20 and gives you the additional perk of a little more legroom; its Choice Essential starts at $29 and includes a checked bag or pay $80 (and up) for Choice Plus and watch the $200 change fee disappear.

2. Day-pass to a VIP lounge

This isn’t about pampering; VIP lounges are where you want to be during delays or cancellations (a real possibility at Thanksgiving) because lounges have dedicated airline employees for personalized help. If you’ve ever stood in line with 100 other passengers to talk to the single, overworked gate agent, this is worth it. Day-pass prices vary; Virgin America charges $40 for some lounges while others charge $50, but look for discounts during holidays…Read More
