Peter Capaldi as Doctor Who

Christian Post Report – While it has already been known that cast members Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman are currently filming for the new season of the hit science-fiction TV series “Doctor Who,” another splendid news greeted the fans of the time-traveling show when it was announced earlier this week that long-time collaborator Mark Gatiss will return to pen an episode for the upcoming chapter.

A report from Den of Geek cited the “Sherlock” actor and co-creator speaking with The Telegraph over the weekend wherein he was able to confirm an “autumn episode” that will be credited under his name.

“I’m in the midst of that right now – I broke off to come here today, in fact, but I’m hoping to finish the script tonight,” he told DenofGeek.

He went on to reveal that the segment will be a “scary” one.

“It has been a tough nut to crack, but I’m delighted with how scary it is. I can’t say any more than that,” he added.

The 48-year-old polymath previously wrote about seven episodes for the TV show. The titles include “Robot of Sherwood,” “The Crimson Horror,” “Cold War,” “Night Terrors,” “Victory of the Daleks,” “The Idiot’s Lantern,” and “The Unquiet Dead.”

It was speculated that the Gatiss’ episode will be that of series 9’s reported two-parter segment. But as what Enstarz said in their report, his “inclusion in the multi-part episode scheme seems unlikely.”

Steven Moffat meanwhile dished out some meaty details about Peter Capaldi’s Doctor.

“We’re not bringing him back exactly the same as we left him, at all. I think that was already evident at Christmas,” Moffat explained to Doctor Who magazine. “He’s left some of the burden of being the superhero of the universe behind.”

“Doctor Who” is expected to return to the BBC and BBC America this fall.
