Christian Post Report – The Chicago Blackhawks travel to Wells Fargo Arena to face the Philadelphia Flyers in the NHL. The game is being played on March 25, 2015, and the puck drops at 8 p.m. ET.
The Flyers have lost four straight matches. All road games, they lost 2-1 to a penalty shootout against the Ottawa Senators. Then they would go to Vancouver to face the Canucks and eventually fall 4-1. The same score-line reflected their loss to the Calgary Flames before their 5-4 overtime loss to the Edmonton Oilers.
Now, on their first trip back home after the four-game road stretch, the Flyers will look to get back on track.
They have won five of their last seven at home, most recently a dominating 7-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings. Wayne Simmonds and Nicklas Grossman opened the scoring in that match with goals in the first period. In the second, Justin Abdelkader cut the deficit in half but less than 10 minutes after Brayden Schenn restored the two-goal lead. He would again score 11 seconds in the third period before Pierre-Edouard Bellemare, Matt Read and Zac Rinaldo put the finishing touches in the domination.
As it stands, Philadelphia is 11th in the East and are currently out of the playoff spot this season.
For the Blackhawks, they have won five of their last six matches, and have gone 2-1 so far in their four-game road trip. With Philadelphia as their last stop before a home game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, a win would go a long way to boost their confidence.
Chicago is currently fourth in the West and are only two points behind the Nashville Predators. They are also only five points behind West leaders Anaheim Ducks.
In their 3-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes, Andrew Shaw scored twice and Patrick Sharp also found the back of the net to get two points on the road.
Now they will try to complete the season sweep over the Flyers as they won 4-0 in their first meeting.
