Tim Tebow arrives at the 48th Country Music Association Awards in Nashville, Tennessee, November 5, 2014.

Christian Post Report – Tim Tebow is teaming up with The Salvation Army to help the homeless.

Tebow, the 27-year-old former Heisman Trophy winner who serves as a football analyst, is going to join the Manatee County Salvation Army’s “Evening of Hope” next May in an effort to help the homeless. According to a Bradenton Herald report, Tebow is looking to “help the Salvation Army fund a ministry for the homeless.”

Throughout the years, Tebow has been vocal about his Christian faith, which he will also speak about at the “Evening of Hope” event at the Bayside Community Church in Bradenton, Florida. The Salvation Army is looking to get monetary donations that will help fund local homeless-prevention services, according to the Bradenton Herald.

Major Dwayne Durham, Manatee County regional Salvation Army coordinator, spoke about getting Tebow involved in the event.

“We feel blessed to be able to partner with such well known advocates like Tim Tebow,” Durham told the Bradenton Herald.

Tebow has spoken up about the importance of his philanthropic efforts in the past. Last year, the evangelical Christian football star-turned-SEC-college football analyst, was selected by People magazine as one of 2014’s Sexiest Men Alive.

He spoke to the publication about his goals for the Tim Tebow Foundation and helping others.

“I hope that when I’m 90 years old, I’ve accomplished a legacy that isn’t all about me. I hope it’s a legacy about the people who our foundation helps,” Tebow previously told People. “We’re about to open a hospital in the Philippines. We’ll have this hospital where we can help kids who are hurting; healing them physically but encouraging them emotionally and spiritually as well.”
