Vin Diesel has named his newborn daughter after his late “Fast & Furious” co-star, Paul Walker.
Christian Post Report – Vin Diesel, whose partner, Mexican model Paloma Jimenez, recently gave birth to their third child this month, has named his new daughter after his late co-star, Paul Walker.
Diesel, 47, who has starred with Walker in all seven “Fast & Furious” films since 2001, named his daughter Pauline after Walker, 40, perished in a car crash in November 2013 during a break in the filming of “Fast & Furious 7.”
“I might never have gone into a delivery room if it wasn’t for Paul,” Diesel said on the “Today” show, as published in The National. When Diesel’s first born, Hania Riley was born in 2008, Walker advised him to be present during the delivery and cut the umbilical cord himself.
According to the actor, naming his daughter, Pauline, felt like a way to keep Walker’s memory alive as a part of his family.
Diesel, who admitted to being devastated at Walker’s death, said his thoughts were on his late co-star when he was in the delivery room with Paloma and cutting his youngest child’s umbilical cord.
The new film in the franchise, “Furious 7,” is dedicated to Walker, and will premiere April 3, nearly two years after the actor’s death. During the film’s early screening, Diesel gave a short emotional speech about Walker, and how much he will be missed in many ways other than as an actor.
With Paul Walker’s death before filming was completed on the movie, the actor’s brothers Cody and Caleb Walker acted as stand-ins to complete the unfinished scenes.
Returning cast from the previous film include Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, and Elsa Pataky. The upcoming “Furious 7” will be introducing new characters played by Kurt Russell, Ronda Rousey, Djimon Hounsou, Nathalie Emmanuel, and a cameo by Iggy Azalea.
