Christian Post Report – Australian actor Hugh Jackman is eponymous for being the Marvel X-Men mutant, Wolverine, in the hit X-Men franchise. Ever since the movie took off, he has been featured as the titular hero in two spin-off films, “X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) and on “The Wolverine” in 2013.

The actor, who has played the role since 2000, previously told in an interview with E! Online that he is willing to wear the adamantium claws prosthetics and “keep playing” the character until “I die.”

However, fans of the 46-year-old “Real Steel” star were quite surprised to learn through his social media account that apparently, “Wolverine 3” will be his last.

“WOLVERINE …ONE LAST TIME. HJ,” reads his Instagram post which comes along with a picture of what appears to be his knuckled up hands.

The news didn’t actually come as a bit of surprise as the third sequel could also be the last in the Wolverine standalone franchise series.

“I don’t know yet. We’re talking it through. I still am very ambitious for the character. And tonally I feel like we corrected the ship with the last one. But I feel we can still go further, in a way. If I did another one I’m 99.9 percent sure it would be the last, so that will inform what it is for me,” he told Screen Rant previously.

It was meanwhile reported that series director James Mangold is already in the preparation stage to kick off the project. Replying to Jackman’s Twitter post, he said:

“Can’t wait to make this, HJ! Been toiling quietly a while now!”

The still yet-to-be-titled “Wolverine 3” is slated to hit the theatres on March 3, 2017.
