Christian Post Report – More doses of intrigue and creepiness are to be expected as the hit thriller drama TV series “Bates Motel” continues on its third season this week.
Tthe show’s lead star, Freddie Highmore, talked about his character, Norman Bates, and his gradual evolution to becoming the man it was known in “Psycho” which connects to how its relationship with its mother, Norma Bates (Vera Farmiga), will be played out for the rest of the season.
“I think the way that Norma and Norman’s relationship evolves in the third season is very much one of these equals of two adults battling it out, as opposed to Norman being the son,” Highmore told The Sydney Morning Herald. “I guess there’s always been hints of this sort of husband/wife relationship that Norma and Norman share. And I think it goes a lot more in that direction in the third season.”
“Norman is certainly more grown-up and can manipulate her a lot more than perhaps he would in the past,” he explained. “He stands up to her a lot more control in their relationship, as opposed to merely being led by his mother. He starts to try and lead her.”
Meanwhile, spoiler reports for the upcoming segment titled “Unbreak-able” pointed out that Norman and Emma (Olivia Cooke) will be taking a day off from the motel. This occasion will perhaps tackle more on the Norman-Emma issue.
Furthermore, this episode will also delve deeper into the two counts of mysterious deaths happening in White Pine Bay which will be carried out by the ever-curious Sheriff Alex Romero (Nestor Carbonell).
Will the shady mother-and-son tandem be linked to the cases?
Find out when “Bates Motel” Season 3 airs this Monday, March 30 on the A&E Network.
