As he approaches the monument, he saw Master Chief, badly wounded in his left shoulder, sitting at the foot of the statue.

Locke confronts the character, blaming him for the destruction around the place and branding him as a traitor rather than the hero he has once been. His dialogue concluded, he switches to his hand gun and pointed it on the fallen combatant.

The scene cuts and the Halo 5: Guardians logo screen flashes along with its release date which is on October 27, 2015 for Xbox One.

The second ad, which aired an hour later, featured the same events but this time on Master Chief’s perspective. The Chief approaches the wounded character as he asked him if “it was all worth it.” The promo also ends with Master Chief pointing the gun on Locke.

A report from Gamespot.com offered more insights on the events shown in the teasers.

Quoting 343 Industries studio executive Bonnie Ross, the publication revealed that the upcoming title will be epic in terms of “scope and scale and drama.”

“We wanted Halo 5: Guardians to be the game that pays off the epic promise of the Halo universe in scope and scale and drama,” Ross said. “We want to amaze players with the sheer size of the worlds and battles they’ll experience, even as they question everything they thought they knew about its heroes, marvels, and mysteries.”
