Christian Post Report – The last episode of History Channel’s hit historical drama TV series “Vikings” Season 3 saw the demise of everyone’s favorite Athelstan (George Blagden) in the hands of Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard).

Titled “Born Again,” followers of the show saw the Priest experiencing what he calls the rebirth of faith to his Christian god. This doesn’t look good in the eyes of Kattegat’s shipbuilder, whose mission, on the other hand, is to appease the will of the Norse gods.

Seeing the signs of blood dripping from a wooden sculpture, Floki sneakily heads downtown to hunt Athelstan. He then finds the latter kneeling in prayer. Athelstan greeted Floki with a smile and then gets struck to death.

Aside from Ragnar (Travis Fimmel), who was obviously stricken with his friend’s death, series creator Michael Hirst teased that Floki will also be affected with the murder he has committed.

When asked if he will regret it, Hirst said “yes.”

“He’s divided about it, but his divisions are very deep and they don’t come out immediately. If you watch this season, you’ll see exactly how he feels about it and it’s very emotional. You really get the full impact of that in the final episode,” he told Zap2It.

Meanwhile, for those who wished for the Norsemen saga to stay in the airwaves, recent news indicates that “Vikings” Season 4 is already scheduled to commence its filming production this April in Ireland.

Hirst said that the next chapter will consist of more episodes than the current one.

“I think we’re doing 16. I have a huge hope that we can continue [beyond that],” he told Radio Times.

For the meantime, “Vikings” Season 3’s upcoming episode titled “Paris” will air this Thursday, April 2 on the History Channel.
