Christian Post Report – With only three points separating the two teams, the Los Angeles Kings try to close the gap with the Vancouver Canucks when they meet at the Rodgers Arena in the NHL. The match is on April 6, 2015 at 10:00 PM ET.
Vancouver are currently second in the Pacific Division with 95 points, while Los Angeles are fourth with 92, with the Calgary Flames in between them with 93.
As it stands, the Canucks and Flames are vying for the wild card slot, with the Anaheim Ducks already securing their playoff spot as the division winners. Both teams are in streaks, with the Canucks losing back-to-back games while the defending champions have won two straight.
Vancouver have been up and down lately, winning three straight games against the Kings, Arizona Coyotes and Winnipeg Jets before dropping two straight against the Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars.
They rebounded against the St. Louis Blues and Nashville Predators but find themselves again in a slump after losses to the Chicago Blackhawks and Jets.
With three matches remaining in their calendar, points are important and few bigger than this against the Kings.
Meanwhile, Los Angeles still have four matches left before the regular season ends and it seems they are getting their legs under them with back-to-back wins over the Edmonton Oilers and Avalanche.
After losing to the Minnesota Wild and Blackhawks, the Kings responded with eight goals at home against Edmonton and three against Colorado.
After their match against Vancouver, they still have Edmonton, the Flames and the San Jose Sharks.
The two teams have met four times this season, with Los Angeles taking the first three matches before Vancouver won last month. Two of the Kings’ victories have come at the Rodgers Arena, including a big 4-0 shutout in their third meeting of the season.
