Christian Post Report – Yankee Stadium is home to the New York Yankees and is located in the Bronx borough of New York.

These division rivals will be licking their lips at the prospect of the American League East this season. There is no clear favorite at this stage, and both of these franchises will be wanting to get the season off to a winning start to emerge as early frontrunners in the coming weeks.

Today’s game will see two right-handers feature on opening day at Yankee Stadium; Masahiro Tanaka will start for the Yankees, and Drew Hutchison will take to the mound for the Blue Jays. Neither pitcher has started on Opening Day before in the MLB, so it will be a unique experience for both.

Tanaka will remember his big league debut against the Blue Jays last year in April. Things did not all go as planned though, as Melky Cabrera smashed a home run off him on just his third pitch to welcome him to the league. The Yankees did go on to win that game, but Tanaka probably will be happy that Cabrera is not part of the proceedings this year. He has now moved on to the White Rox.

“He’s gone, so I wouldn’t have that sort of negative image from last year. Yes, obviously I’d like to have a different outcome for the first batter this season,” Tanaka said.

He added, “I think the biggest difference is that I’ll be pitching at home this season. I’m really happy about that. Last year obviously was over in Toronto and being away from home. Definitely being able to pitch at home this season, I’m really happy about that.”

The New York Yankees will take on the Toronto Blue Jays from 1.05 p.m. ET today, and the game can be watched on TV on the ESPN and YES networks, or online through free live stream by clicking here.
