Christian Post Report – Director James Gunn once again took to the social media to offer update details on the upcoming “Guardians of the Galaxy 2,” which as previously reported, will be veering farther away from its Marvel Comics canon.

Gunn’s question-and-answer segment on Periscope this week to reveal that he has already completed and mapped out his treatment on the GoTG sequel.

“I turned in my treatment. I’m going in to meet about it Friday and we will start working on the screenplay next week,” Gunn said.

It was found out, moreover, that the initial production for the upcoming installment is set to commence this February of 2016. His plans also include shooting the film at Pinewood Atlanta Studios following Marvel’s other forthcoming superhero offerings, “Ant-Man” and “Captain America: Civil War.”

The February 2016 production timeline would bring the movie to the big screen this May 5, 2017.

Other nuggets of information shared by Gunn during the Q&A went on to mention that the title is slated to be released in 3D form.

The studio and Gunn has also opted not to do “motion capture for Rocket [voiced by Bradley Cooper] and Groot [voice talent Vin Diesel].”

Fans will also get to know more of Gunn’s GoTG in a “deeper way” and that there will be some “little improv” done during rehearsals which was then added to the script.

“Guardians of the Galaxy 2” will see the return of Chris Pratt (as Starlord), Zoe Saldana (as Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax the Destroyer), and the two mentioned voice talents with their corresponding characters.
