Marvel has finally revealed one of its most significant characters in “The Avengers: Age of Ultron” in the person of Vision, who appears on its latest movie poster.

After several “Iron Man” films playing the disembodied voice of J.A.R.V.I.S., Paul Bettany finally gets a body of his own in a Marvel movie poster for “The Avengers: Age of Ultron” as Vision, a character that plays a very integral role in the movie’s plot.

Vision is a character the villain Ultron creates using Tony Stark’s J.A.R.V.I.S. program, but what happens after that has still not been revealed by Marvel and Disney, who have kept Vision virtually shrouded from audience’s view except for a brief glance at his eye area in one of the movie’s trailers.

Vision finally makes an appearance in a full body cover on the April issue of Entertainment Weekly Magazine alongside the Hulk and the Black Widow.

While the movie’s official website doesn’t delve too deeply into Vision’s origins, Entertainment Weekly released a report detailing what may very well be the character’s history. The premise is that villain Von Strucker had been experimenting with robotics, and Tony Stark harnesses the technology to adapt it for his own A.I. project, and from an amalgamation of their work, Ultron is born.

Unfortunately, Ulton goes rogue and wrecks havoc with Stark’s project, totally reinventing J.A.R.V.I.S into a hybrid artificial life form, and turning the program into a synthezoid (synthesized android) known as the Vision.

Ultron originally developed Vision to destroy most of earth’s organic life. Bettany as the full-bodied Vision will be exhibiting all his powers on film, including flying, and altering his matter’s density to go through solid objects.

What further role the Vision plays in the movie is still in the dark, and audiences will have to see for themselves when the movie hits North America on May 1.
