Christian Post Report – After months of waiting, the latest mobile operating system for the OnePlus smartphone is finally here.
For those who have not yet received the news, the Android “flagship killer” may already run the newest Oxygen OS.
According to the report by GSM Arena, Oxygen was originally a back-up plan for OnePlus after its initial partner, Cyanogen, made a deal with Micromax, one of the former’s fierce competitors in India.
While Cyanogen still announced that it would release the latest CyanogenMod 12s to both the OnePlus One, and the Micromax Yureka, OnePlus might still want to enjoy an exclusive deal.
As a result, the Oxygen project was born.
In reports, the mobile OS should have been released on March 27, but it was a delayed by more than a week due to compatibility and other system issues.
The new OS is based on Google’s Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update, and boasts minimalists features and icons.
Similar to other third-party developed Android builds, the Oxygen OS also has some custom animations, gesture options, security features, and other additions to make it stand out from vanilla Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Based on recent reports and rumors, OnePlus would be banking its future in Oxygen OS, especially with the release of its OnePlus Two later this year.
While this may not be good news for Cyanogen fans, this is something they just have to accept if they are OnePlus One fans as well.
