Christian Post Report – Manny Pacquiao with his wife Jinkee

Manny Pacquiao is currently busy preparing for his historic fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. which will take place in Las Vegas on May 2, but the Filipino boxer took time out of his busy training schedule to speak at the non-denominational Shepherd Church Westside in Los Angeles on Sunday, April 12, about his rocky past and how he’s a changed man.

At the service, Pastor Dudley Rutherford showed clips from a documentary featuring the fighter drinking and partying. These images, according to Pacquiao and his wife Jinkee, brought back painful memories of the couple’s difficult time.

“Personally, I don’t like it now, to see that video again,” he told Pastor Rutherford. “I know how to gamble, I know how to drink, a lot of girls, womanizing, like that. You know I accept that because that’s the old Manny.”

The boxer admitted that at one point, he let fame go to his head, and that’s when their family problems started.

He also revealed that Jinkee almost left him because of his womanizing and that it came to a point when they stopped speaking to each other and their respective lawyers have started communicating with one another.

Pacquiao said that his born-again Christian faith was the reason why he was able to save his relationship with his wife.

“I’m happy that the Lord changed my life,” said Pacquiao. And though he gets emotional when watching videos of the “old Manny”, he says he hopes that it will inspire people to change for the better. The boxer also expressed his hopes to bring the “lost people back to the Lord.”
