Activision has just announced an autumn release date for “Guitar Hero Live,” its latest installment in the popular rock star simulator game.
American video game publisher, Activision revealed it will be releasing “Guitar Hero Live,” its first new title after four years, in late 2015, earlier than fans expected.
The new installment to the franchise is currently in development at FreeStyleGames, the same company that created “DJ Hero” and “DJ Hero 2.”
Two new game modes will be available, the namesake mode and Guitar Hero Live, where fans of the game will encounter a major change in perspective. The GH Live first person perspective situates the player onstage and looking out at the crowd in the setting of either a tiny club or a large outdoor festival. The live-action audience will react according to how well the player performs in real time.
The upcoming game will also include a new GHTV multiplayer mode, which gives players the capability to challenge their friends, or random players around the world, playing along to a constantly updated collection of music videos from multiple channels and a variety of themed shows. They may also opt to play songs on-demand.
Activision is also rolling out a new controller, which has been revealed to sport two rows of three buttons each. While the full song list hasn’t been announced yet, artists confirmed to be in the tracklist include The Rolling Stones, Ed Sheeran, Green Day, The Black Keys, The Lumineers, Fall Out Boy, The Killers, Blitz Kids, Gary Clark, Jr., My Chemical Romance, The War on Drugs, Pierce the Veil and Skrillex.
The FreeStyleGames’ first person music rhythm video game will retail at $99.99, with select retailers having started accepting pre-orders for the console version of the game.
“Guitar Hero Live” will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Wii U, as well as select mobile devices that support the game’s specs requirements.
