Arsenal continue their defense of the FA Cup as they face Reading at Wembley Stadium in the semi-final of the competition. The match is on April 18, 2015 at 12:20 p.m. ET.
Crowned as champions for the 11th time last year, Arsenal are level with Manchester United as the top two teams with the most number of FA Cups. A win over Reading will help them take one step closer as the most successful club in the competition.
Arsenal booked their place in the semis with a big 2-1 win over United in the sixth round of the competition.
In the match, Nacho Monreal scored the match’s first goal in the 25th minute to give the Gunners an early advantage. Unfortunately, Wayne Rooney leveled the score only after four minutes to set-up an intriguing second half. The game was ultimately put to bed when Danny Welbeck scored against his old club in the 61st minute and Angel di Maria was sent off following a second yellow card to help Arsenal overcome United at Old Trafford.
In terms of form, Arsenal have been very impressive lately, winning eight straight matches across all competitions. Their most recent performance was a 1-0 win over Burnley as they find themselves second in the Premier League table.
On the other hand, Reading are currently 18th in the Championship and have not won in their last five league games.
In all competitions, their last win was their 3-0 win over Bradford City in the sixth round of the FA Cup.
Playing as hosts at Madejski Stadium, Reading got off to a hot start against Bradford as Hal Robson-Kanu and Garath McCleary scored within the first 10 minutes of the match.
Jamie Mackie completed the route in the 68th minute to send them to the semis.
Facing the defending champions, Reading can turn their season around with a big win and a place in the final.
