Christian Post Report – The NHL is looking to expand has Las Vegas in its sights

With the series tied 1-1, the scene shifts to Xcel Energy Center as the Minnesota Wild host the St. Louis Blues in Game 3 of their Western Conference match-up. The game is on April 20, 2015 at 8 p.m. ET.

Despite coming on to the playoffs through the Wild Card places, Minnesota surprised everybody when they opened their post-season campaign with a win against the Central Division’s top team in St. Louis.

Minnesota dominated the game by attempting 29 shots on goal against St. Louis’ 21. The visitors also set the pace early as Jason Zucker scored early in the third minute of the first period. The lead was doubled in the second behind a power-play goal by Matt Dumba in the 25th minute. In the third, the two teams traded two goals each, but it did little to change the outcome as Minnesota took an early series lead after a 4-2 win.

St. Louis adjusted when they met for the second game, and Vladimir Tarasenko seemed like he was focused on getting the Blues a much-needed win at home. He scored in the 14th minute of the game to give St. Louis the lead, then doubling his tally in the 19th with a power-play goal to end the period leading 2-0. Minnesota cut the lead in half in the opening moments of the third period, but they could not muster any more goals as St. Louis scored two more, including Tarasenko’s goal on an empty net to complete his hat trick.

Now with the series tied at 1-1, the all-important Game 3 should help sway things into the favor of the winner.

A win for St. Louis brings back home advantage, while Minnesota will want to start things off right as they play as hosts.
