Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak Won’t Own Newest Smartphone

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak isn’t getting his own iPhone X when the smartphone hits store shelves this Friday. The man who built Apple with Steve Jobs said he will wait and watch how consumers will respond to the iPhone X.

Wozniak always got hold of Apple’s latest products on the first day of release. The co-founder, however, spoke with CNBC and said that the iPhone X doesn’t have much to offer him.

“I’m happy with my iPhone 8, which is the same as the iPhone 7, which is the same as the iPhone 6.” Wozniak said.

The Apple co-founder also expressed skepticism over the Face ID feature’s reliability so he’s going to observe users first. He revealed, however, that his wife will have the iPhone X so he can check it out when she’s not using it.

Wozniak left Apple in 1985 after making a mark with the Apple II computer. He remains a consumer of the company’s products, however, despite his displeasure for where the company headed.

Known in Silicon Valley as the “Wizard of Woz,” the tech industry authority said he’s no longer interested in smartphones in general. He’s now keener in following up the latest developments in the electric vehicles and self-driving cars industry. He, however, told CNBC that he’s not impressed with Tesla and Elon Musk.
