At least one person has been killed and seven others injured in a shooting at a Kentucky high school.
The shooting took place at Marshall County High School in Benton, Kentucky, which is reportedly a small, close-knit community, about 115 miles northwest of Nashville, Tennessee.
CNN.com reports that the shooter is currently in custody and emergency officials are still securing the area. Students are being moved to safety at a nearby middle school where their parents and guardians can pick them up.
Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin tweeted following the shooting:
Tragic shooting at Marshall County HS…Shooter is in custody, one confirmed fatality, multiple others wounded…Much yet unknown…Please do not speculate or spread hearsay…Let’s let the first responders do their job and be grateful that they are there to do it for us…

Rep. James Comer who represents Kentucky’s first congressional district, also responded to the shooting on Twitter:
