Topic: Use Your Phone Wisely [Teens’ Open Heavens Friday 16th, February 2018]
Memorise: Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. – 1 Corinthians 10:31
Read: Ephesians 5:15-17
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
Bible In One Year: Leviticus 22-23, Mark 1:1-2
MESSAGE:
Mobile phones have become a major part of our lives now. Practically everyone old enough to use a phone now has at least one phone. Phones are also used for almost every human activity possible, with a wide variety of applications being developed daily. People use their phones as maps, cameras, stopwatches, reminders, just to mention a few.
With a universal tool like the phone, it is fast becoming obvious that what you use your phone for is practically what you use your life for. Some use their phone to stalk other people on social media, some use their phone to snap picture every 20 minutes, or to watch pornography; whereas some others use their phones to read their Bible on the go, they use their phones to browse the internet for life changing information about how to succeed in school, work, et cetera. What do you use your phone for? Remember; what you use your phone for is practically what you use your life for.
Action Point: Use your phone wisely
Hymn 2:
1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
Chorus:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
2. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.
3. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.
4.But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.
5. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.
