Stormzy became emotional when he was revealed as the winner of the British male solo artist prize.
He then became overwhelmed as he was announced as the winner of the most coveted prize of the night, the British album award, beating favourite Ed Sheeran to the accolade.
He fell to the ground in shock while in the audience as he was announced the winner for his debut record Gang Signs And Prayer.
Accepting his prize, the rapper told the audience: “Firstly, I always give all the glory to God, God this is all you, this is all you God.
“I know that a lot of people, when I give the glory to God, it seems such a strange thing, but if you know God, you know it’s all him.”
He thanked his family and his team, and added: “Gang Signs And Prayer… was the hardest thing, I’ve never worked on something like this in my life, I’ve never given my entire being, I didn’t have anything left after… we made something I feel that is undeniable, that I can stand by today.”
Christian MP for Tottenham David Lammy congratulated the music star for his double win and said: “He’s changed the game, his story is so inspiring and his music has given a voice to a generation of young people living in our inner cities. Respect and love from Tottenham.”
