Dear Mothers, Congratulations! By Bishop Mike Okonkwo

On this lovely Sunday morning, I join multiplied millions of people all over the world to wish every mother and married woman a happy mother’s day. The bible says that he that finds a wife finds a good thing (Proverbs 18:22), therefore women are good. In the beginning, God made man, but God Himself said it is not good for man to be alone, and so He had to create the woman to complement the man. Women are indeed a gift from God, a blessing to this universe and on this day, we want to let them know that we appreciate and celebrate them. You are most valuable. Without you around, life would have been boring.
Mothers (Women), in spite of the decadence we see all around us in the world, God is calling you to a life of virtue and honour because of the great value He has placed on your life. By virtue of the new birth, not only are you a rare breed; your worth is much more than rubies and diamonds.
“A good woman is hard to find and worth far more than diamonds…” (Proverbs 31:10 MSG)

Mothers and intending mothers, I truly thank God for the great role you are playing in your immediate families, the church and in the Society at large. On this special day, let me encourage you to continue to stand out as women of honour and virtue, a beacon of hope in a dark world. Beloved, we live in a time and hour when values have become eroded, but you must take a quality decision to shine as light. Don’t ever forget that you are an ambassador for Christ, and you must function like one wherever you find yourself. God’s will is that you would be a shining example of the Believer, a blessing and source of joy both to your immediate family and to every person around you.
As a virtuous woman, it is also vitally important to live a balanced life. I understand the difficulty involved with finding a balance, more especially given the kind of society and country we live in, but I believe God can help you achieve this. Your priority must be God first. You must also prioritize your family too, don’t neglect them, and as you seek God first, He will help you to successfully balance your career and all other obligations you have.
Once again congratulations to every married woman in the house, and a happy mother’s day. You will live to reap the fruits of your labour and it shall be well with you. For those standing in faith for the fruit of the womb, the Lord will make you a mother this year. You shall not be barren. This year you will ride on the wings of grace, hitherto you were called forsaken, but I prophesy that you shall henceforth be called sought after. As you have joined others to celebrate, so also will you be celebrated.
As you go into this week may the Lord cause His face to shine upon you, grant you peace on every side and uphold you with His mighty outstretched Hand. You are Above Only!
Maranatha!
In His Royal Service
Dr Mike Okonkwo
