‘All Things Come from the Lord,’ Says Bo Nix, QB for No. 7 Auburn

Auburn freshman quarterback Bo Nix has helped propel the Tigers to a No. 7 ranking and undefeated record, but he says none of it would be possible without God.

Nix told ESPN’s Holly Rowe he wears a white wristband that reads “Humble Over Hype.” It was a gift from teammate Javaris Davis.

“It reminds you to stay humble, because there’s a lot of hype around you – and [it reminds you] how you can have an influence on other people at the same time,” Nix said. “That’s really important.”

Nix was the No. 1 pro-style high school quarterback last year according to Rivals.com and chose the Tigers over Alabama, Clemson and Oklahoma, among others. This year, he has helped lead Auburn to wins over Top 25 foes Oregon and Texas A&M.

Asked how he stays humble, Nix told Rowe, “You just come to work every week and go to practice and just make sure that you’re the teammate that the guys want to follow. And then you’re doing the best you can to win the game on Saturday.”

His Christian faith, Nix added, helps him stay grounded. He even attends church on Sunday mornings after a Saturday game.

“I get up and go to church, because I know that all things come from the Lord and He can take them away really quickly,” Nix said. “And so just be thankful for this position that I’m in.”
