A powerful new faith-based drama, Flywheel: Ignition of the Soul, brings a renewed perspective to the inspiring story of repentance, honesty and the transforming power of God. The film reimagines the Kendrick Brothers’ original 2003 production, Flywheel, taking its timeless Christian message to a new generation through a Brazilian setting.
Set in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the film follows Noah Silva, a smooth-talking used-car salesman whose dishonest business practices and determination to succeed at all costs begin to destroy his family relationships and professional life. As the consequences of his actions become increasingly difficult to ignore, Noah is forced to confront his mistakes and reconsider the direction of his life.
His journey takes a spiritual turn when he begins to surrender his life to God, recognising the importance of integrity, accountability and genuine repentance. Determined to change, he embarks on a difficult journey to rebuild his character, restore his family relationships and regain the trust of those he has disappointed.
Directed by Brazilian filmmaker Alessandro Barros and written by Alex Kendrick, the film features Mário Bregieira, Pérola Faria, Felipe Folgosi and other Brazilian actors, with Alex Kendrick also appearing in the production. It was filmed in Portuguese and produced with the involvement and guidance of the Kendrick Brothers.
The film explores important Christian themes, including forgiveness, faith, honesty, humility and the importance of putting God at the centre of everyday decisions. It also delivers a powerful reminder that genuine transformation begins when individuals acknowledge their wrongdoing and allow God to lead their lives.
Released in US cinemas on 16 October 2026, Flywheel: Ignition of the Soul revisits a much-loved Christian story while introducing its message to a new audience. Its central message is clear: no matter how far someone has strayed, a sincere decision to turn towards God can mark the beginning of a completely new journey.
